Congrats...and definitely jealous of the combo! :DRe: Farewell Message...Final PostTom, I am glad you could share your experience with the young couple but also that you could share something so personal as your diagnosis with terminal cancer. You will be in our prayers as live your life for the remaining time you have with your family. Make the most of the good days and try not to worry of those not so good days. Know that you have been a positive impact to many here and in Illinois. God Bless you and your family with strength and understanding. Saying a special prayer for you all! StevenRe: Solar Clothes Dryer (pix)Great clothes dryer. Thank you for sharing. I like that the line is actual string... Will have to make my own as this seems very useful. We usually hang towels out after a pool or lake swimming session and I like how easy this would be.Re: Shopping for First RV: Travel Trailer choices - HELP!You will a dozen different opinions...each 'brand' has good & bad units depending on the Quality Assurance inspections and the worker. I have a Forest River product and have been happy with it. If I was in your shoes I would buy used, have it inspected by an independent RV Tech and stay in the 24-28' range. I will never buy another 'ultra-lite' again. And with that size and today's F150s you should be able to find something used and within the weights you need. Good luck and just be cautious of too good a deal!Re: Our Texas road trip (updated w/pics)Great post and pictures. New Braunfels and areas south can be a great place to live and work...a lot to do, but no Pacific Ocean!Re: Moving up in the travel trailer age!!! deltabravo wrote: tjw0099 wrote: We are looking at 32' to 34' frame. Truck for that size trailer = DIESEL. Today's larger displacement gas engines will work fine. I have a 3/4T Suburban with 8.1L and though it has 240K plus on the odometer it pulls my 8K, 32' trailer with no issues with just the 4sp transmission. A F250 with the 6.2L, Chevrolet/GM with 6.0L, or Ram with 6.4L will all work fine on a 250/2500 chassis if properly equipped with tow package. A diesel would provide more power for towing, but under 10K I think any of the gas models will be fine (though you won't win the race up the hill) More importantly to figure out is how you will use it when NOT towing.Re: Now I'm Really Confused summitpower wrote: Well we bit the bullet and bought a Wildwood heritage Glenn 300bh, local dealer said one was available at factory and had upgraded to 2 ac units and had r38 insulation and was 2k under dealer that had hemisphere and they are same unit. Congratulations! Get a old quality hitch and enjoy the TT!Re: GM Factory 5th Wheel PrepGreat looking truck!Re: This sums it up for the status of the RV industry nowGood article... Unfortunately a lot of truths in it. My next purchase will definitely be used so I will have a better idea of what has already been repaired ;)Re: 2006 Yukon XL 2500 tiresI had some Michelin LTX M/S that did me well before I wanted a more aggressive tread.
