I have a Lance TT which has aluminum studs, with a 20 foot awning that all together is really heavy and needs good support.Re: Verizon or T-MobileNeither! I had been with Verizon for a really long time but finally got bothered by my bill where I had two Android phones plus a MIFI and paid $167 a month. I switched to Consumer Cellular where we have the same exact coverage as my old Verizon, don't have the MIFI but use my Android hot-spot for other attachments like our tablets, plus 5G, other, and all for $60 a month. I'm too old to be stupid.Re: RV Cover Brand Recommendations? MtView wrote: One review stated it ripped "like toilet paper". Generally New England weather is mild in the summer but in the south west the sun is a big factor and the ADCO does resemble toilet paper after about 3 years or less like mine did. I would never purchase one again but maybe it's all about the weather it's exposed to. As I recall the reviews on Camping World were great but Amazon was a completely different story.Re: What's your Suggested yearly Maintenance/Repair fund/budget?I have never had a budget, too many variables. My silly method is to be prepared to spend whatever is necessary for my motor home, aircraft, cars and home to run as designed and what is safe. I understand that the following remark will seem really stupid but I talk to my motor home and airplane. I tell them that I will do whatever they need and want, and in return I want them to keep me and mine safe.Re: Overnight along I-5 btwn Stockton and Bakersfield, CASimple. 142 miles south of Stockton is Harris Ranch at Hwy 5 & 198. A lot of truckers and RV'ers park behind the Shell station but we park on the street on the south side of the station. For several years when traveling north or south we always stop there and have dinner, then spend the night. Have flown in there several times also.Re: TV on the roadI have a slightly different take on TV on the road. For years I used to have Dish but later changed to DircTV because of the NFL. We used to travel 2 months at a time. In 2015 we spent the winter in Key West. In 2016 we traveled for 8 months hitting most of the states. Towards the end I cancelled DirecTV and found over the air and cable offered by the RV Park had all the information I needed. Really, unless you are a full timer why do you need satellite TV? We are supposed to be traveling and enjoying our surroundings, not being a couch potato. At home we have cable, can't get any over-the-air or else I might go that direction.Re: Trying to decide between 5th wheel and Class A$25k, you can't afford a decent class A for 4 animals and 3 humans and actually those numbers don't sound fun either way you're considering. If you have a good truck to pull the 5th, get as large as you can find. You should be able to find a fairly good one for $25k. Last year we traveled the U.S. in our A for 8 months, boy I was glad to get back to the brick and mortar. My wife said more than once if she was a full timer it would be with a 5th, not the A.Re: propane tank and hot water heaterYou have an interesting question and I'm not an expert in propane tanks but I do know they have a float device inside controlling the amount of propane that is inserted like a toilet bowl. Perhaps the float is stuck given yours is 20 years old?Re: Blue Ox Patriot 2 Braking SystemWe have a Blue Ox system. I setup the car and my wife sets up the breaking system, simple. I purchased it all used on Ebay, don't remember the exact amount but way less than $1,000.Re: Entry StepsMine was working intermittently for a couple of weeks. Lubed the heck out of every joint (not the first time), checked the current getting to the motor all looked fine but then it stopped. We were traveling so I couldn't get a new one sent to me because we were on the move. Finally got Camping World to look at it, the motor was dead.
