One of the factors in the purchase was the relatively large refrigerator. My wife wanted the extra storage under the beds. I love driving the Sprinter. My first RV was a gasoline powered 32' Class A and I hated driving it. Of course I had to tow. I love the diesel engine in the Sprinter, the way it doesn't slow on hills. We don't have to tow but I can. My only problem with the Sprinter are the constant rumors on sites like this that talk about dash lights coming on, having to replace this engine part, etc. I just get the service performed regularly and, for the most part, haven't had much trouble. (I have had to replace a few cheap Winnebago coach parts.) It is not a problem to add the DEF fluid. I just add it either when it asks for it or whenever I arrive home. No problem.Re: Showers in Class B motorhomes? My wife and I almost always use our wet bath (shower) in our Winnebago Era 70A. I am 5'9", 170 pounds. I use a wood yard stick to move the shower curtain out a little into the aisle so I don't rub up against it when I turn on the overhead exhaust to keep humidity down.Re: are you an ERA70c owner?Just fyi. I briefly owned a 32' class A on a Ford V10 chassis. I didn't like driving it or pulling a toad. I love driving our Sprinter (Era 70A). Good luck.Re: Sticking Awning WindowsAwning windows are windows that open from the bottom outward. (Casement windows crank open like a door.) I don't know if RV windows like this are called awning windows or not. My widows rest on a rubber seal and open from the bottom outward. They are not sliding windows in a track. Thanks anyway.Sticking Awning WindowsHello. I have a 2013 Winnebago Era. My awning windows are sticking. Is there something I should use to keep them from sticking? Silicone? Apply to windows and rubber gasket? Despite always trying to be gentle with them, I think I may have cracked one of the twist latches (before going outside to gently pry on the window. Those windows are so floppy. Do those things have a short life? Ever replaced one? Thanks, Roy (newbie)Re: Class A comparison?I bought a Class A a few years back. It was a gas V-10 and it slowed down on every hill. I really don't recommend considering a gas Class A. If you get a Class A you will almost assuredly need to tow a vehicle. That makes the train even longer, no backing up, etc. I greatly prefer my Era. Of course, I don't full time in my Class B. Just my 2 cents.Re: WATERNewbie here. I once left the "fill valve" in the fill position after I had turned off the water. Later I thought the pump was dying because it wasn't working correctly. I discovered the fill valve was in the wrong position later. So, check your "fill valve".Re: From a big B to a small C......observationsAnd keep posting about your experience. Sometimes I wonder if I should have bought a View instead of an Era...Re: Questioning Gas Power/Torque vs DieselWe bought our Era in Forest City, IA. After touring and putting the required 1K miles on it we pulled our Suzuki GV from Forest City, IA to Santa Fe, NM. The Era had no trouble pulling the Suzuki but it did seem to knock a few mpgs off the mileage. The only time I really noticed the Suzuki behind me was when I hit some bumps. It would yank on our Era pretty hard. It is pretty flat between Iowa and New Mexico so I can't really say how it tows in the mountains. We don't tow with the Era. The Era is a pleasure to drive in the mountains of northern New Mexico and Colorado. The Durango-Silverton-Ouray route was particularly beautiful in the Era. I am sold on diesel. I pass people going up long hills. They pass me when we go downhill.
