Take I-20 to just past Meridian, MS, then take US 45 to 158 south of Citronelle across to I65 South, take Exit 9 and bypass Mobile and the tunnel, pick up I10 just past the docks and continue east on i10 to the Destin exit you want. I've done the route from Meridian to Destin twice this year, good roads, not a lot of big trucks, roads and exits are well marked. Take 55 to 412 to Jackson, Tn, then 45 S through Tupelo to Mobile. You will have about 45 miles of two lane once you cross over into Al but it's good road, just difficult to pass or be passed. From 45 take the Saraland 158 exit to I65. Take I 165 exit and take the truck route across the bridge instead of using the tunnel. I think this is Exit 9, follow signs. You will rejoin I10 just past the battleship. Continue on to the Gulf Shores exit. I just travelled this route from Amory,, MS in late May, no road construction, few trucks, great road.486Views0likes0CommentsRe: tundra 1/2 ton
Max Payload for the Tundra is pretty low, around 1500#. You are way overloaded with that pin weight. I had a 2007 Tundra Crewmax and pulled a 6500# unloaded weight travel trailer, it was anemic at best. The gas tank is small and you have to stop frequently for gas.. I now have a Ford F-250 PS diesel with the same trailer and could not be happier. Pulls like a dream. Get a 3/4 ton diesel and save yourself some headache.121Views0likes0Comments
