I added niblets corn to make it more "corny" and will do that from now on. Thanks. ChuckRe: Chicken Pot Pie - camp styleHey Hokey Pokey, We roasted a chicken on Monday and of course only ate about half of it. So, I cut up the remainder today and mixed by your recipe. In the DO now. The mix tasted great cold. Should be a great meal. Thanks for the recipe. Chuck PS - What if the Hokey Pokey IS what it's all about?Re: Trip Report - Jellystone NPJellystone National Park is where Yogi Bear and Boo Boo Bear (his sidekick) got into cartoon misadventures when we were kids. I guess I knew about Jellystone long before I knew about Yellowstone.....Re: Copycat RecipesWOW! The Recipe Goldmine is truly a gold mine!!!! Thanks for the link. Regards. ChuckRe: Almost head onDear Sidecar, Sorry somebody P-$$$$ed in your cheerios this morning. Hope you aren't driving today. Regards. I work driving motorhomes for a dealer and had to get my commercial license. The training would be an eyeopener for the average driver. Slam the truckers all you want but I spent 30 years as a cop and saw car drivers doing dumber stuff than the truckers. Pull my toy hauler across the country and you'll see what I mean. In my opinion, big trucks are dangerous. I am sure that the majority of trucks are driven by well-trained professional drivers, but many are driven by "Smokey and the Bandit" yahoo wannabees. Put a yahoo and a dangerous truck together and bad things happen. All those tons running down the highway looking for trouble. Sorry for the rant. I was in the way of one of the yahoos several years ago and feel lucky to have survived. Was driving a car in the outside lane of I-95 near Springfield VA. A truck (large well known company) driver pulled into my lane, knocked my car off the road. Driver said he didn't even see my car..... Tore up the car, but I was ok. Shocked by how hard/far a truck can knock a car! The fewer trucks we have on the road, the better we all will be, in my opinion. Regards. ChuckRe: Harrisburg to RoanokeWe traveled north on 81 two days ago, from Roanoke to I-66. Road is fine from a condition standpoint. As someone noted above, there is construction just on the north side of Roanoke but not that big a deal. Traffic was very heavy, but mostly due to the high percentage of trucks. Someone mentioned Blue Ridge Parkway as an alternative. It is a VERY leisurely ride..... Also, they are paving the parkway which caused us to sit for 20-25 minutes at one point. We drove north on the parkway from I-77 to 220 (just outside of Roanoke). They are paving about 30-40 miles south of Roanoke. Unless you don't mind the new tar & gravel (not asphalt) and the lengthy wait, stay on 81. Wasn't a big deal to us, we wanted to take our time an enjoy the views from the parkway. Regards. ChuckRe: Mahoning Drive In TheaterSounds like a lotta fun to me!Re: Our first motorhome question.Has anybody installed the MORyde RS suspension? MORyde claims it makes a much smoother ride. They do have a pretty good reputation. Wonder if it helps a lot?Re: Truck slams into RV on I-75 FloridaThere's a HUGE difference between RVs and Semi's: Millions of trucks on the highways and thousands of RVs. More trucks, more opportunity for mayhem. How often do you read in the paper "RV plows into car killing a bunch of folks"? Rarely, very rarely. Not so with trucks, happens all the time. There's a HUGE difference between Cars and Semi's: Trucks weigh 10 to 15 times as much as cars. Harder to stop, maneuver, etc. Do more damage when the hit anything. No offense meant to the safe-minded truck drivers who have spoken up on this topic. I am not sure that anyone blames ALL truck drivers, but every time I am on the highway, (and I am out there a lot) I see lots of bad actors behind the wheel of trucks. Not all truck drivers but a lot of them, enough to cause me to try to avoid them as much as possible. Here in Georgia, they have been talking (politicians do that very well!!) about building a "rail to truck" depot in north GA, near TN. They plan to load containers off ships in Savannah onto rail cars, then load them off the rail cars onto trucks. Supposed to reduce the number of trucks through GA significantly. Won't help TN though.... Regards. Chuck
