The phone part worked great for me. Never had any issues with dropped calls. No one ever complained about being able to hear me and every thing sounded loud and clear in the truck. I did drop OnStar after the 6 months was up. I didn't use it often enough to justify paying for it. No complaints for me other than the price.Re: First New Travel Trailer! That's a nice looking TT. Hope you have many fun, safe trips with it. The difference between camping in a tent and RVing is amazing. Congrats on your new TT.Re: WD StorageI use 2 Zip Lock bags (gallon size). Slide them over the business end of the bars and slide them in the pass through compartment. The hitch head stays on the truck unless we are going to take the truck out somewhere, then it goes in the pass through too. While in storage, it all goes in the pass through.Re: What is so facinating about closing time?I managed a retail auto parts store for several years. The emergency customers, I could understand and would do my best to help them out. The guy coming in 1 minute til closing, wandering around for 15 minutes and then buying a small $1.79 bottle of Armor All, I couldn't stand. Happened all the time. Some folks just didn't think we had anything better to do I guess. LOLRe: What Do YOU do when it rains?I will break out one of my Uncle John's Bathroom Readers and soak up some useless facts about many useless subjects. Naps are fun and refreshing. The DW and I will play Uno or Rummy until I actually start winning. That's when the argument start because she thinks the only way I can win is to cheat. LOL. The TT is well stocked with DVD's so that's always a good option. My favorite rainy day activity be far is sitting under the awning, making the beer cooler lighter. I'd rather go camping in the rain than work in the sun.Re: Single Axle vs Dual AxleTake your time and find a floor plan that suits you. A slide is nice to have. It does make rainy days seem a lot less claustrophobic. As far a brake controllers go, get yourself a Prodigy P2 or P3. You will be happy with either of these controllers.Re: diesel repairI've never looked for it, but I believe there are a couple of forums dedicated to Duramax engines. I frequented a Cummins forum when I had my Ram 2500 and learned all kinds of info specific to those engines/trucks. Google Duramax forums and take a look.Re: Most common campground complaints?I've only been in one CG that I can complain about. The water connection was on the wrong side of the TT and at the front of the site. I just used it to fill my fresh water tank and we ran off it while we were there. The sewer connection was waaaay back in the rear of the site and on an uphill slope compared to the gravel pad the TT was parked on. I just used the dump station on my way out of the CG instead of trying to make the poo poo run uphill. There was also a couple of large trees that were close to the TT and I couldn't open my awning and the site had a bunch of holes and dips in it, making it a little hard to walk. Didn't let any of this ruin the couple of nights we stayed there. Just worked around everything.Re: Truck Sagging When TowingAirbags. Just put a set on my Silverado and they made a world of difference.Re: Strangest thing asked to borrowA few tools. Let a guy borrow my 2" ball and draw bar to pull his tote tank to dump it. I got borrowed one evening during a heavy rain to help put up a couples awning. They could not figure out how to roll it up and were panicking because it kept filling up with water.
