Although it has cold air outlets pointing in all directions, cold air only comes out toward the back and sides. If your bed is forward of the AC unit, you will sweat (a lot) as there is little-to-no airflow in that direction. You must close off all the other outlets to get even just a little air moving toward the front. I took the cover down for inspection thinking maybe there was a blockage or perhaps an installation error, but nope, just bad airflow design.Re: EPDM roof 14 years old and wore out, now what ?!Wait...14 years...20 years??? I would never, ever have expected that kind of lifespan from an EPDM roof. just..Wow. Hats off to ya both...:CRe: Coachmen Viking 17BHI have two thoughts: 1) See my other posts for how to save some seriously significant money by purchasing through Costco. You may even save enough to buy a much better trailer for close to the same money. And 2) In my trailer search last year, I observed that the Coachmen entry level models (Clipper/Viking) looked like a rag-tag team of folks were assembling them without any regard for quality whatsoever. After all my comparisons I ended up going with the much higher quality Coachmen Freedom Express 192RBS instead. It's not a bunkhouse like the Viking you mentioned so it may not work for you, but wow, what a night and day difference in quality. I cringe when I see the Viking/Clippers going down the road, and I cannot recommend those particular units in good conscious. (but that is just me)Re: Freedom Express Wheel Chocks Here are the ones I use. They adjust to fit the distance between the tires. I use them to steady the trailer when walking around inside it. They definitely work. They are also MUCH more substantial and "beefer" than they look in photos.Re: Coachman Freedom Express 19RBSI also have a Freedom Express 192RBS by Coachmen and I love it more each time I use it! Great features, lots of near-luxury appointments and fantastic build quality. In fact, I am approaching my one-year mark, and still can't come up with much of anything that needs to be done before the factory warranty expires. Light-weight and easy to tow, I use either a 2017 Toyota Tacoma V6 or a 2017 Lexus LX570, and both work fine. It is also easy to maneuver, which was important to me as I live on a sloped, mountain property with a couple tight turns in my driveway. I can definitely understand why it is at the top of many Coachmen dealer's best-seller list. The dealer I purchased from said that haven't ever had a new one in stock for more than a month or two. Mine was on the lot there less than 15 days when I purchased it, and they were in the process of ordering several more at the time. Feel free to message me if you have any other specific questions, and also be sure to check out the 192RBS walk-around videos on YouTube produced by Haylett RV, up in Michigan. Although they were not my selling dealer, they have several excellent and in-depth walk-around videos on the Freedom Express series and their enthusiasm for this unit in particular really shows. No buyer's remorse or regrets for me. I can see me keeping this unit for years and years to come. Whatever you decide, I hope it works out as well as mine has for me. You can also check out my other posts for info. about saving money by purchasing through Costco RV buyer's program as well. Have fun. be safe and Happy Camping y'all!Re: Buying a new travel trailerSo you are here for advice on buying a travel trailer. That is a good start and you'll get lots of great advice here (along with some silliness, of course). Whatever you finally decide on, my recommendation is to check into purchasing it through Costco. I did, and saved a couple thousand dollars over several local dealer's "best prices", and was about the same as the local dealers wanted for two year-old used trailers. In my case, I had to drive out of state to pick it up, but for me it was worth it. Just use the following URL: "www.costcoauto.com/rv/" Click on "locate a dealer" then enter the unit you are looking for and they will match you up with the dealer nearest you. In my case it was Colerain RV in Dayton. OH. I had a fantastic sales person! She (Amy) was excellent, it was a ridiculously easy transaction and the service folks were very thorough during the inspection process. Buying new, but at wholesale pricing, allows you to use a new trailer for a year or two and trade-in or trade-up without the typical risk of a big loss. Be safe and Happy camping!Re: Is de-lamination a big problem? Can Azdel help? For me, one of the biggest selling features of my Coachmen Freedom Express was the Azdel wall construction. Both of the main Azdel advantages are important to me (less chance of delamination and 40% lighter weight without sacrificing build quality). To me, without Azdel, my trailer would be a significantly lesser product. Even better, the overall quality of the Freedom Express has been terrific. Safe and Happy Camping to all!Re: Buying New at Used Prices?? Yep, through Costco! Thanks for all the great feedback on my original post. I especially loved the query about whether it has "Kirkland" printed on the side. That was hilarious!:B Of course, your opinion regarding Costco may vary, I was only telling folks what worked out EXTREMELY well for me. In my case, I not only bought new and saved 2000 dollars compared to a two year old unit (exact same model) up front, but I also saved an additional 1000 dollars in taxes because of a quirk in the state titling laws that resulted in neither Georgia nor Ohio collecting sales tax. Kinda like the "bank error in your favor" Monopoly card! By the way, in case anyone is doing the research, I can't say enough good things about the Freedom Express by Coachmen. I am approaching the end of my one year warranty, and am having a hard time coming up with a reason to have it inspected and/or repaired. Love the trailer / love the dealer Safe travels and Happy camping everyone!Buying New at Used Prices?? Yep, through Costco! So you are here for advice on buying a travel trailer. To drive that point, I am having troubling finding much to have done to mine before the warranty expires later this year. Mine was really well-screwed together, as they say. Strange also, is that when I have inquired about wiring diagrams, stud locations, etc., I have found the Coachmen factory team to be responsive. So strange that we've had such different experiences. I guess as the other poster recommended...Dry out, move on and Happy Camping!
