We had site #16 in a nearly empty campground. Spent 5 days with no more then 4 other sites taken while we were there. Cherry Lake is down quite a bit with the drought conditions we're dealing with. Took a day trip over to Hetch Hetchy in Yosemite National Park. Had a pleasant surprise on the way back to camp from Hetch Hetchy when we caught a glimpse of this bad boy. Re: ~Post your campsite photos here~Spent 4 days at New Brighton State Campground in Capitola. We had site #75 right on the bluff overlooking the ocean. Matching color on Dometic awningLooking for any insight on matching the white on a Dometic Awning. I have an area about 3" x 3" that I scuffed on one of the awning arms. I contacted Dometic and they do offer a touch up paint in a spray can, however they want $43 plus tax and shipping. Thought I'd do a little research trying to come up with a little less costly way of touching it up before going that route. Does anyone have a color matching technique or knowledge of what the spec is for their awning?Re: Confusing Electric/Lighting Issue therink wrote: I see you have a Cougar. Is it equipped with the Wireless remote option that controls lights and levelers? It's official, I'm an dork! Thank you Steve, yes it was the remote. I never use the remote so didn't even consider it, but your suggestion brought it all back to me. When I got the trailer parked, noticed the remote was falling off its velcro home so I pushed it back onto it and must have hit the button for the panic light. Perfect example why I love this site, the great suggestions and common sense reminders that always help to solve our problems.Confusing Electric/Lighting IssueJust got back from a week of camping, cleaned the trailer and parked it on the side. Went out this afternoon to get a few things out and noticed the trailer floodlight on. No biggie, I must of hit the switch while cleaning the trailer. So went in to flip the switch and found it was off, but the light is just lit as bright as can be. Flip the switch on and off a few times and nothing happens, light stays on. Here's were the confusion comes in, what the heck is going on? I finally just pulled the cover and un-pluged the bulb. Would this most likely be a bad switch? Thanks for the help with my confusion.Re: 20ish foot travel trailer with a slide?Take a look at the Cougar 21RBS, ours is the western edition and we love it. On our 2nd year and its been everything we expected.Re: New travel trailer expectations profdant139 wrote: No big deal. A little duct tape, and problem solved. Did you fill the tank fully before leaving? Our service tech told us not to do that. In response, I went under the trailer and reinforced the supports for the tank. I still don't travel long distances with the water tank full, but I am less concerned about the tank falling out. I guess my expectations are in the clouds. Because I expect my 60 gallon fresh water tank to hold 60 gallons of water and not fall out going down the highway! Why should we as consumers settle for less?Re: ~Post your campsite photos here~1st trip of 2014, site 75 at New Brighton State Beach Campground in Capitola. Right on the bluff overlooking the ocean, awesome view. Re: GOOD AND BADX2 on Fresh Cab You'll have to get rid of them first, than try Fresh Cab to keep them away. Been using it for my 2nd year now with no sign of activity.Re: Too many Batteries Robert812 wrote: Hi all, Have a question on Batteries. I have a 1997 25ft KZ trailer. Have done so many mods it doesn't look the same. 4 100watt solar panels on the roof, just so I can boondock some. OK question: have you heard of the battery box Torklift? They(ABCS of RV) did a install on dvd. well I have 2 6volt battery and found torklift has a bigger on for 6 volts (4-5)(#A7709) it measures 59" length 8" W and 13" Tall. It fits across the frame like the other boxes but will overlap 9" on each side. the 4 6 volt battery 61 lbs x 4=244lbs. can this be done on the front of the trailer? With 4 6volt batterys and solar, I could stay out for ever.LOL. well thanks for listening or reading anyway. Stay warm and save trips. I didn't use the Torklift box, but did this exact mod with a truck bed side rail box. The cost for the box was quite a bit less and the 4 trojans fit nice and snug. I drilled a couple 2" vent holes and inserted louvered vent covers into them. Also drilled a few small drain holes in the bottom in case water got into the box.
