I bought my first Lance 835 in Sevierville TN, dealer is gone now. I traded it for a 1050S in Chattanooga (fish-n-fun). good folks but mostly know boats but sell Lance campers. Never had any service done due to 4 hour round trip from Huntsville. Bankston in Huntsville now sells Lance campers but their service is backed up for several months due to volume. The are good at selling but no so much in repairing. I shopped with them prior to trading with fish-n-fun. Nice people but I took 2 hours to walk their sales staff around the TCs and teach them about TCs. I'm also looking for a new latch system for my Lance 1050S cabinets. Everyone of the latches alternate from "not opening" to " opening while driving". Why can't Lance install a latch that works? I keep a pair of pliers inside the camper to re-bend the metal tab as necessary. If you find a working substitute please post it up. I had the same problem with my 835. the flame would blow out while passing trucks. I put a small piece of gutter tin on the inside of the access cover to block the lower vents and the flame never blew out again. Note: even covering the lower vent holes still allows enough ventilation and keeps heat build up to minimum.552Views0likes0CommentsRe: How do I install horizontal propane tanks in my Lance 1161?
Our Lance 835 had horizontal tanks and no one would fill them herfe in Huntsville while they were mounted. The tanks were marked "must be filled while vertical" so I always had to remove them. We now have an 1050s with vertical tanks. I agree that you will have to get a different style tank to use as a permanent mounted one. I would recommend looking at the tanks used on small forklifts for a smaller size but they may still be to large. Rick200Views0likes0CommentsRe: Propane heater
I added a second battery to my 835. I put the battery in the truck bed and connected it to the camper battery. I had the small 70 watt factory installed solar panel and it kept both batteries topped off. No problem running the furnace in the winter. enjoy the cool weather and turn the thermostat down at night.167Views0likes0Comments
