Anode rods are designed to attract minerals and can deteriorate over time. Ineffective anode rods allow excessive buildup of minerals, leading to popping noises and other problems.Replace a deteriorated anode rod with a collapsible anode rod that allows installation in water heater closets without removing the tank.Re: battery disconnectJeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited (all models), you must have the ignition key in the first position to unlock the steering wheel. Even with all accessories in the Jeep in the "off" position, this first key position will still cause the Jeep to draw 2+ amps continuous. A fully charged battery will be incapable of starting the Jeep after ~5 or more hours of towing. To remedy this "problem", simply remove the Ignition Off Draw (IOD) fuse before towing and press it back in when you're done. Please note that Jeep advises disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. This works too but may be more disruptive to channel presets, etc.Re: Generator chargingYou can charge your bank with ANY amount of amps that is more than the amount of power that the batteries lose by self-discharge and your normal usage. I am not sure if it is the "Amps" or the "hours" aspect of the "Ampere Hours" that you seem not to be grasping.Re: Flojet Macerator PumpI pump mine with 100' of 3/4" hose. It does OK, but as others have mentioned, there is no substitute for opening that valve and WHOOOSH, letting it quickly drain into a short 3" hose. The pump is too slow to get the solids moving good. I usually have to do about 3 fill-pump cycles to get it reasonable clean. Also, if you are going to dump into a septic tank, you will have to use the green tank chemicals. The blue formaldehyde based chemicals will kill a septic tank in short order.Re: use hydraulic lifts down or up in winter for storeingThe rig's leveling jacks are designed to hold up the rig.. NOT to keep it from moving side to side or front to back.. If you lift ONE rear wheel of the ground then the rig can move forward or back (Since the parking brake and locks are on the drive shaft) and turn your jacks into very expensive pretzels. If you lift BOTH either front or rear wheels off the ground then a side wind can pretzel the jacks the same way. However using other types of supports (Jacking the wheels up with, say a 12 ton air/hydraulic jack and lowering them down on Jack Stands or on vapor blocks) is OK. No problem there at all.
