My fix was to install a 1.5 inch wide x 1/8 inch thick flat aluminum. The hinge post on our 1200 Norcold is 1/4 inch. Rivit this in place along the bottom of the door.Re: Spring trip to New Mexico?Like eubank said, some forest campgrounds may still be closed at that time of year. The national forest websites post opening dates. If you get time check out Capulin Volcano Nat Monument, and Fort Union, right off of I25. North of Las Vegas NM there is Storrie Lake State Park. Bandelier National Monument, has a nice campground. From there make a day trip to Los Alamos and visit the Bradbury Science Museum, https://www.lanl.gov/museum/ free admission! Check out the Sacramento Mountains in central NM. Ruiodoso, Cloudcroft, WhiteSands Nat Monument. There are lots of trees in the central mountains. For fun go to the UFO museum in Roswell, and don't forget Carlsbad Caverns. West of Carrizozo is Valley of Fires Recreation Area. All these can be found on the web. Full hookup NM state parks are $14. April can be very windy in New Mexico.Re: Solar panel install on Winnebago roofHere is a link for sticky feet solar mounts: https://www.rvsolarconnection.com/system-components/fixed-flat-solar-module-mounts.htm I used them on 2 145 watt panels 3 years ago with no problems on a class A Winnebago with fiberglass roof. I used 6 for each panel plus put a screw and sealant on top of screw. For the answer to strength, I would contact Winnebago in Forest City Iowa. This installation may alter your warranty, something else to think about.Re: Chevy 8.1 Engine Issues Again! This same problem happened to our 07 Voyage. About 20 miles down the road after getting fuel in Clayton NM power dropped. Pulled over removed fuel filter, drained, then reinstalled. I had just put new fuel filter on about 500 miles before. RV would get up to about 30 then rpm would drop. Went through process again, same results. Check engine light came on, I stopped and removed negative cable, operated lights, ignition switch, ect. Hooked battery back up and rig ran fine. Got to Raton and bought some Lucas Oil Fuel Treatment. For the next two or three fill ups I added Lucas Oil. Fortunately I had only purchased about 25 gallons in Clayton. By removing DC power the computer was reset. Now I add Lucas Oil periodically.Re: Anyone use Harvest Hosts?Been a member of Harvest Hosts since 2011. A great way to spend the night if your in between long term camping spots. We've stayed at wineries in Wisconsin, California, and New Mexico. A donkey rescue in Colorado, and an air museum in San Antonio. We always purchase something just to show gratitude for a quite night, away from Wal-Mart or Flying J's. At the winery in Wisconsin we were told that they leave at 5pm and don't open till 10am, and they we're not worried about us taking too many samples and driving. We were told to take a walk through their vineyards, pick some fruits and there is a place to get water if you need it. All the hosts have been super friendly. Look at it this way, when you stay at a campground/resort and leave you have a lighter wallet. Staying at a winery you can leave with extra bottles in the rig, depending on indulgence.;)Re: Red Squirrel or Chip MonkI put moth balls on top of the tires and toss a few under the rig. Smells like Aunt Bessy's closet, but it works.Canned soup/food storageWhen storing canned food under the dinette seat we write the contents and purchase date on the top of the can with a sharpie. Found this easier than picking up several cans and reading the label to find the right item. Tried laying them on their side but with different size cans it didn't work.Re: Loose Fender Panel - Adhesive for attachment?Same thing happened to our Voyage on the way to Mo. I went to Lowes and got a 1/2" wide flat aluminum bent it to go around existing bracket, secured it with screws and JB Weld. The right side has had the same problem and prior owner had it fixed with globs of some type of sealant.
