All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: TPMS SystemsI've had the TST TPMS for a few years now and am very happy with it. The cost was right and the sensors have worked great. The only problem I had was corrosion on my valve stems of my truck due to keeping them installed year-round. TST replaced the 4 sensors free of charge, and advised me to use dielectric grease on the new set. All good from there. If you've ever wanted peace of mind when traveling, get these! Sort of like setting your alarm clock and phone alarm because you have an important meeting in the morning - better safe than sorry. A travel friend also has the TST TPMS and had a warning go off to alert of a flat tire before it came apart to do any damage to his 5W. I have the head unit velcro'd on my console in a tactful and inconspicuous location. Turning it on and letting it sync w/ the sensors is part of my regular routine.Re: slide toppersI tried the beach ball and rope thing. It worked, but when I realized the water that pools doesn't hurt anything, plus the beach balls were a real pain, we stopped doing anything. We just watch out when sliding them in. Hasn't been an issue.Re: Reese R20 - struggling to unhitchJust wanted to circle back on this thread now that I've had the chance to try these tips out. You guys were right - the rearward pressure on the jaws was exactly the issues. When I drop the front legs and take most the weight off the hitch, back up slightly (setting pin pressure forward in the jaws), VIOLA! The hitch lever slides easily out. Thanks for the help - I feel much better about my R20 now. :) MikeRe: Reese R20 - struggling to unhitchGood suggestions here, thanks. I'm not able to pull the lever until the weight is off the hitch, though. So that must be why I'm struggling. Is that normal?Reese R20 - struggling to unhitchI went from a sliding Reese 16k to the R20 this year. I like the R20, but on my old 16k, when I lowered the front landing gear on the trailer, I could see when the pin box raised off the hitch head, so I knew when to release the button and drive out from under it. On the R20, the whole-head lubri-plate seems to be thicker, so I can't tell when to let go, and end up raising the rear of the truck, then lowering - a couple times until I find the sweet spot. There's just no play between the head and the pinbox, and I have no indication when to stop. Anyone have this issue - and figured out a way to solve it? I'd rather not remove the whole-head lubri-plate, that was one of my reasons for getting the R20. Tks,Komfort welcome home light issueThe welcome home light stopped working on our 2012 Komfort 3130FRL,and recently the light started flickering on/off on its own. The sensor in the door checks out ok. Disconnected it and ran a continuity check, and it toggles open/closed as the door is open/closed. The light in the ceiling works ok (has 2 inputs; 1 for a manual switch, 1 activated/power when the door opens). There's 13.5VDC when i turn the switch on. There's 11.9VDC on the other feed wire all the time. This doesn't change when the door in open/closed. I called Dutchmen customer service and they couldn't offer any help. I'm looking for someone that understands how the Welcome Home light is wired, is there a controller hidden somewhere? I suspect there must be a relay or controller because when it was working, the light would turn on when the door was opened, then would go out 10-15sec after it closed. That leads me to believe it is not a simple on/off relay. Anyone have experience on this one?Re: long slide toppersI'm the same as most of the replies here. I have 2 long slide toppers (15'+) and used to try and fish a beach ball/rope through to keep them from pooling. Turned out to be a pain in the neck and other than learning the same lesson to stand clear when wife puts the slides in, have had no issues with letting the water stand until we pack up.Re: Tire pressure monitorsNo one can really tell you the BEST, just what works for them. For us, its the TST 510-RV system. After years of "going to get one", we had a blowout that caused damage. Ended up getting the TST system and put sensors on the fiver and the TV - the peace of mind is WELL worth the money spent. Very happy with it - and even use it w/ out the trailer when taking long trips. Haven't had a problem that required warranty or support, so can't say good or bad there.Re: Seams in shower stalls...any problems?Yes, they require some attention - but not so much that I'd call it a problem. I spent an hour running a fresh bead of caulk around the seams - which would be a good idea with any new rig. In the end, got the shower we wanted w/ just a little work to make sure of no leaks.Re: Your RigMy Crossroads Cruiser 30' BH, and 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. Michael Hellertown, PA
