But they are hired on as temp workers, the same as anyone else coming in new to the organization.Re: AMAZON updates! LOOK here a new TN location & other updatesIs the PTO going to be a "use it or lose it" situation? Or will we be paid for unused accumulation upon our departure? Is the PTO taking the place of the previous 2 non-paid days we got?Re: Cape Fear, Harker Island shenandoahvalley wrote: Have any members has experience with the Cap Fear National Park, particularly the Visitor Center at Harker Island? I am volunteering there in February and March, the ranger seemed very nice on the phone but would like to have some feedback if you have been there. That's kind of surprising to hear. We signed up this past August to work there Jan-Apr. Guess they changed their mind about us. Hope it works for you....Re: Coffeyville, KS - Amazon needs YOU - EARN $10.50 per hour!...Re: Coffeyville, KS - Amazon needs YOU - EARN $10.50 per hour! There was plenty of voluntary overtime available this summer when we worked there. With nothing to do in Coffeyville, there's plenty of incentive to work the overtime as well.Re: Information Discussion for Gate Guards Blondie Girl wrote: I said there are 3 companies that I would not work for. I did not name the companies and did not say anything bad about them. They may be a perfect match for others. Like a car salesman friend told me once, "There's a butt for every seat." We have been with GGS for over 2 yrs fulltime and are very satisfied here and well taken care of. Everyone needs to be where they are most comfortable and happy with their job. Some folks can not be happy no matter where they are at. Cheers Everyone!! IMO, people who are considering this type of work should be made aware of the experiences of those who have/had worked for these companies. If that conflicts with your experience, then it is what it is. I did not mention any details as to what the instances/experience we had with GGS, so I don't see how that is "badmouthing" the company. "Some folks can not be happy no matter where they are at," has nothing to do with our experience.Re: Information Discussion for Gate Guards Blondie Girl wrote: Why badmouth GGS just because you yourself had a bad experience? Let me see if I understand this correctly - you can say that there are gate guard companies that you would not work for and that's not considered badmouthing? Yet I say I would not choose to work for GGS based on our personal experience and that is considered badmouthing? Give me a break.Re: Information Discussion for Gate Guards Blondie Girl wrote: Do not be afraid to go to work for GGS. They are a very large company and have excellent equipment and good service people. There are many other gate guard companies around and some also would be good to work for.... You just have to decide for yourself which company best fits your needs. GGS is not a company I would choose to work for based on our personal experiences. I would strongly suggest and encourage those who are considering the work of a gate guard to do extensive research with respect to the different companies. The gate guard company's support, or lack thereof, is a major factor in one's ability to perform their duties as a gate guard.Re: Information Discussion for Gate Guards ChaosAgent wrote: Can you elaborate? Sorry, it's not politically correct for me to do so.Re: Information Discussion for Gate Guards The Texan wrote: Any one looking for a job, call Gate Guard Services at 361-949-6992 and talk to Patty. They are down about 4 gate guards today, because they took over gates that another company lost.... They're short, too, because they have gate guards leaving them because of intolerable circumstances.
