They should be dry, clean and shiny (male and female) and fit tightly. Monitor their temperature carefully, either by touch or a Raytek. Keeping them cool by shading or painting them white helps, too. In the Army, we buried high current cables and poured water over the track to keep them cool. No water on connectors, though.Re: Snake!!! dbbls wrote: You do know that killing a snake in most, if not all states, is illegal. That varies from state to state, and even county to county, and also varies depending on the snake. Example, some snakes, including some rattlers. are protected in AZ. And you need a hunting license to kill a non-protected snake in a hunting area. ...... In Iowa, you can only kill a rattler within so many feet of your dwelling, and it varies from county to county.Re: Steer Safe vs. Safe T Steer vs. etc.... hurricane0226 wrote: Has anyone had CW install the Steer safe? I am looking at having them installed on my F53 chassie, an Itasca Sunstar class A. I don't think there is one answer. Their installation quality is all over the map. It varies from shop to shop, and there is a lot of turnover.Re: Headers vs oem manifoldsI have used Thorleys on a number of vehicles, and they have all delivered good improvements. I prefer Tri Wye for RVs and trucks, which need a broad power band. Equal length is a little better for peak power at one RPM range, though. Helmholtz resonance and all that. But Banks has more bragging rights due to their advertising budget, high price, and you get a nifty stick-on chrome thingy.Re: Steer Safe vs. Safe T Steer vs. etc....They both use springs to keep the steering pointed straight down the road, and will help you keep it straight if something goes wrong. One uses tension springs, one uses compression springs. Not a lot of difference. The Steer Safe is a little easier to install poorly, but a good wrench should not have trouble.Re: 454 Chevy engine backfiresTry some Red Line Fuel System Cleaner.Re: Samson China Made Tires ? topflite51 wrote: Contrary to popular opinion around here not every tire made in China is a bomb. If the sun is hitting the panel at an angle of 0 deg, the cosine of 0 is 1. That means you multiply the rating of the panel by 1 to get its output. If the angle is 45 deg, the cosine of 45 is .7, so the output is 70%. And so forth. A panel puts out its rated power under ideal conditions, but his gives you an idea of the importance of tilt. Tilting doubles my output in December.
