Only reason to get rid of it was the diesel genny on the motorhome. You will get plenty of great years from it with only oil changes. Never had to do a thing to mine and I had hundreds of hours on it. Cheers!Re: Ford F450 diesel 4:30 gearsCan't help you with the trailer brake question - but in terms of MPG you'll get 5 to 10. 5 into the wind, 10 with a huge wind behind you, and average 7.5. Those numbers are pretty good for any diesel truck combination pulling a 13k or better 5th wheel at 65 mph. Just no good way to get past the average of 7 or 8, especially with the 4:30. Some get a little more, some a little less, but most hit these averages. Should pull really well though, plenty of torque. Let us know what you get when you hook it up. What is the brake question, BTW?Re: Sams Club? We've stayed at Sams locations before. We have always checked in with the store manager first though, never any issues.Re: Nitrogen in tiresDog Folks if you tow at 200mph don't forget to post the video!! :)Re: Nitrogen in tires+1 on waste of money. About 78% of air is nitrogen anyway. Tell him you'd like to try it for free for a while and will give him the nitrogen back if you don't like it, LOL.Re: 4200D Cyclone toy haulerI had a Heartland Cyclone 4100 for about a year before finally upgrading to a Class A pusher. Good build quality on the Heartland and no issues at all with it. We move around so much we just decided that we might as well go to the DP. I thought it was a very well thought out design. Never noticed any issues with the triple-axle setup. If you are looking for a large toy-hauler I'd recommend Heartland and recommend the Cyclone series. Good luck!Re: Pullright or Hijacker AutoSlide?I had Mor Ryde with my Superglide. The Mor Ryde was already on the 5th wheel when I purchased it, but that in combination with the ISR Superglide was a very strong and stable combination. I really liked the ride and feel of it when towing. One other thing I had on that truck was the Ride-Rite airbags as well. With all three (Superglide, Mor Ryde, Ride-Rite) it was a dang good setup. I would certainly recommend it. This was all on a F350 SRW pulling a Keystone Alpine 40ft 5th wheel. Cheers, GregRe: Pullright or Hijacker AutoSlide?I used a Pullrite ISR 18k Superglide for several years and, after switching to a Class A, sold it to my neighbor who still uses it. Works great, easy to hook up, no "chunking", etc. Really liked how the jaws came entirely around the kingpin. Only thing I would say is that you have to be a little more diligent with greasing/oiling, but not a big deal once you get the hang of it. One drawback if you plan to remove it from the truck bed frequently, that dang thing is HEAVY. Really take two to heft it out and back in again. But you can remove the head to help a little with the weight. Happy shopping! GregRe: Weber Q?Work well? Absolutely - best portable I've ever had. Hold up to the test of time? Also very good. I have had a couple of control valves go out (my own fault, see below) and Weber sent no cost no shipping charge replacements in a couple of days. We use the folding side tables. 1lb bottle about 3.5 to 4 hours on full tilt And now a note about the control valves. My neighbor and I both had this happen to us and both were able to get replacements, but if you are careful you can avoid it. Apparently when you use the adapter hose to a larger tank if you do not open he valves in the correct sequence you can put the control valve into "leak detection" mode, where it will allow only a minimum of flow through no matter what you do. In order to avoid you have to ensure you pressurize the system by having the grill valve closed, line connected, and then open the tank valve - wait a few minutes for the pressure to build, and then finally turn the grill on - or at least that is what the Weber folks told me on the phone. Opening the tank value and the grill valve at the same time might trigger the problem. At any rate they sent a replacement valve right away because once it got into the "leak detection" mode it would not recover, even with the small bottle attached. FWIW they told me this condition cannot occur with the small bottle. Anyway that is the only problem I have ever had the WeberQ and Weber fixed it pronto. I have the large (non portable) model for home and the 220 for the road. I think it is fine to use the adapter hose just as long as you open things using the correct procedure. Happy grilling! GregRe: Advice needed!!!Ride-rite air bags. Easy no-drill install, you can inflate/deflate to just the right level angle you want (allowing varying loads to balance), easy to take care of. I had a 2012 F350 and 2011 F250 and put Rite-rites on both of them. Not sure why you get so much sag with those Fords but it is a problem. You especially notice it when you tow at night and everyone flashes their lights at you, because yours are pointed up into their eyes, LOL. FYI all of the issues I had were within load specifications on the axle, load, etc. as well.
