Was cheaper than French Quarter RV Resort and what looks like a nicer setting, and what I think is a safer area! We are only staying a day and a half. We like to stay there too. It is nice being on the water even if you are not waterfront. We do recommend getting a premium pull through as it is worth the difference. More space and a little more privacy. Depending on the weather it can get a little dusty. The restaurant is not bad if you just want to hang there. You will be safe in the resort. They have some great restaurants in NO. Enjoy!Re: commercial campground near Arches National ParkWe stayed at the Arches a few years ago. It was right at the gate to the Arches. The road to Canyon Land was across the street. The best place to eat downtown is the brewery. Whatever you decide on you need to make your reservations like yesterday. The spring is their busy season. Enjoy.Re: Theodore Roosevelt National ParkTheodore Roosevelt National Park is interesting and something that you will enjoy. It is not one of our favorite areas but it was a good trip. If you stay in Medora there is really not a great campground. The best is probably the new city park. Pretty much a gravel parking lot. Please understand that Medora is not like visiting a real local town. It is really something that has grown over time strictly for tourists. That is why there are no grocery stores and gas stations. At the North end if you stay in town (Williston) there are really not any great campgrounds either. The commute from town to the North Park entrance is about 45 minutes. If you are going over to Glacier from there Hwy 2 is a nice ride across Montana. Enjoy.Re: Taos or Santa Fe, New MexicoBob I know that you are probably looking for more guidance then this but both are great spots with lots of history. Taos is a smaller town while Santa Fe is a city. If I were you I would read up on both and see what interests you the most. We cant help you with RV parks in Taos but if you stay in Santa Fe I would do Santa Fe Skies. The New Mexican food is fantastic throughout the entire area. Enjoy your trip.Re: New River Gorge bridge rv pks?We stayed at Summerville Lake Retreat in Summerville. It is a nice park, clean and has some nice views of the lake. It is a short drive to the bridge.Re: Glacier National ParkI know that most on this tread are trying to get a site in a park campground. If you don't mind staying outside the gate on the East side I can tell you that the St Mary KOA is taking reservations. We made ours for early June.Re: Campground recommendations for the FL panhandleJuice I thought that I would list a few that you can look up and check out. 1. Bay Breeze, Gulf Shores - Small on the Bay under very large live oaks. Close to the fort. 2. Gulf Coat State Park, Gulf Shores - Large campground between the beach and the bay. 3. Camping on the Gulf, Destin - On the ocean with some trees 4. Top Sail - Destin - Large State Park with beach access. Large with a good many trees and large sites. 5. Pandian Ridge, Gulf Shores - Large, no trees very popular. Just a few to check outRe: Recommendations for Moab campgroundX3 Archview. As said it is out of downtown but is convenient to everything that you will want to do.Re: Quality used Class A'sTiffin Motor Homes makes a number of models with 1.5 baths. They make a good motor home. We are on our third and have really enjoyed every one that we have had. They stand behind what they build. Check out the Open Road 36UA and the 36LA. It is a little longer then you are looking for but it is a nice gas coach. Good luck with your search.Re: Spearfish, SDI agree with seeing the Badlands. While there cross the interstate and take the tour at the Minuteman Missile site. A lot of history and really cool to see. They take you down in the original silo in the elevator to see the control room. You can then see the missiles down the road in their silos. It does not take that long and well worth the time. That is a beautiful area. If you are in Hill City in the evening eat at the Alpine Inn Hotel Steakhouse. Very reasonable and all they serve is filet mignon. The only choice you have is regular size or large. The deserts are to die for but get there early. Crazy Horse & The Needles are worth your time. You can see the Needles at the north end of Custer SP.
