That's only half the cost of a new Hensley Arrow. I paid full price, but got free shipping on a year-end deal, simply because I wanted a brand-spanking new one, but I did seriously consider a used one. As far as the product itself, I feel very strongly, due to personal experiences with sway, and I would NEVER ever tow my trailer without a Hensley.:BRe: Dicor rubber roof Protectant-Is it waste on EPDM roof?I would imagine that following the manual that came with your trailer would be a good way to go. Here is a quote from the section in my owners manual about caring for rubber roof: "The rubber roof is a polymer membrane that will not rust or corrode and is very strong and durable. Other than periodic washing, the rubber roof material itself does not require maintenance or coatings. However, be advised that any attachment, seams, or joints in the rubber roof requires maintenance often! The roof material can, however, be punctured, snagged or cut by contact with other objects. Know the height of your unit and avoid contact with overpasses, trees, ectc. If the rubber roof is damaged, it is designed to be patched. Rubber roof patch kits are available through your local dealer. If done correctly, these kits are designed extremely reliable" On my trailer, the roof is partially visible from the ground and when it is dirty, it spoils the looks. I will clean it once per year.Re: Anyone broken a Hensley?I keep mine covered. It's still fairly new. We'll see what it looks like in 9 years. In the meantime, I think, an agressive preventative maintenance schedule would be in order, since the hensley is more complicated, with more moving parts than most other setups.Re: Other reasons ST tires fail?? From Discount Tire's website (5,000 to 12,000 miles): Discount Tire From the Carlisle website (5,000 to 12,000 miles or more): Carlisle Tire But wait a minute! You didn't read the section of the Discount Tire site where it explains: "Why use an ST Tire".Re: Winterizing RVFor those of you with a fairly new KEYSTONE product, your owner's manual has about two pages devoted to winterization, and explains both the 'wet' method and the 'dry' method. It DOES make these statements: Use 30 psi max to blow out your lines (for dry method) If you don't use the WH bypass, an additional 6-10 gallons of antifreeze will be required (wet method) Pour an amount of RV non-toxic antifreeze into the fresh water tank . . . an alternative method is to attach a hose to the suction side of the water pump . . . (wet method) So, apparently, Keystone indicates there's nothing wrong with either wet or dry method, pouring antifreeze in fresh water tank, in the hot water heater etc. , it's all acceptable. Of course, each RV owner would want to follow manufacturer recommendations in the manual, if any.Re: Just had a brainstorm - how about a survey!Still kinda undecided, but last year I blew out the lines, used pink in the traps, and I do drink from the faucet (with an attached filter).Re: Blowing out water lines for winter storage. Ex-Tech wrote: Just know that only blowing out the lines still leaves water in a few vulnerable places such as water pumps and ice makers. . . . Unless you're like me and don't use the water pump (always hooked into city water supply) and don't have an ice maker (except the little plastic tray I fill up in the freezer).Re: The nerveWell, I for one liked the music as well as the video on the rebuild. ;) As far as the negative comment on YOUTUBE, I'd say that I would have a hard time putting stock in the opinion of an individual who feels the need to use swear words to express him/herself. Call me old-fashioned.Re: Loveseat conversion, do I need to secure to floor? My TT came with wall-mounted straps to hold the swivel rocker, the dining chairs AND the large loveseat in place.Re: HELP identifying this trailer?Actually, Shasta made some trailers that did NOT have the little wings on it. But in this case, I agree this is probably a Clipper, from the window configuration.
