As others have said...cheap insurance.Re: Why won't the borders allow rvs across? VE3ESN wrote: Well, of course the irony in all of this is that there's a "loophole" that many have used to get their car or rv from Canada to the US. We know of a couple in our condo who did this. Here in southern Ontario, a company near St. Catherines, ON will arrange for your vehicle (car, truck, or RV) to be placed on a flat-bed truck and driven to Buffalo, NY. Then, after a short helicopter ride to your vehicle in Buffalo, you've crossed the border and free to drive to your US destination. The service isn't inexpensive, but apparently many have done it. Having said all this, when we found out what our neighbors had done, we were quite wary of the whole process. However, when they returned to Canada, both of them had their double Moderna vaccinations that they received, free of charge, in Florida. Actually, they had their shots before my wife and me! However, they've since told us that they're somewhat concerned about future trips to Florida because of "vaccine hesitancy" among many in the "red states", which is much of the trip south and their Florida destination. The anti-vaxxers have the potential to ruin it for the rest of us, and it's hard to understand their rationale. They really need to follow the science. Would be interested in the name of the outfit in st catherines. PM me.Re: Snowbird RefundsHad a bunch of 30 day stays booked for 2020/2021 and have been cancelling as the border will not allow me to cross from Canada with my rv. Got one full refund but most keep some of my money. The amount varies from one day charge withheld to one who kept $400.Re: Snowbirding 2020/21 wilber1 wrote: legsnred wrote: What I am wondering about is all of our Canadian friends. As it stands now, Canadians cannot get out of country medical insurance. Unless that changes, I doubt you will see many of us. We may have to get reacquainted with Canadian winters. In addition, currently the border is closed for non essential travelers. That may change but a number I have talked to are not waiting to find that it is still closed this fall and are planning a winter in Canada. Personally I’m still hoping I can go south. Have already paid for a month in Nevada and one in AZ....did that in Feb before the lockdown.Re: Fulltiming in a Class CWe full time in a super c after 10 yrs in a 5er. We have seen fulltimers in everything. You can make it work. The main difference you will find is a lot ( a really lot) less storage. If you can get over the lack of storage, you will be ok.Re: Basement Storage of Super Cs compared to Class AsHave a 17 Verona after 10 yrs in a couple of 5ers. The Verona has less than half the storage of either 5er and I assume class As. Takes a lot of getting used to. We got a bunkhouse model and had renegade put doors on the bunks for storage. That helped but still really tight for storage.Re: Bike Rack That Won't Interfere with DinghyHave a swagman 4 bike rack that attaches to motorhome hitch but does not interfere with tow bar. They have many types. I like the fact that the bikes are on the motorhome and I can use the toad without dragging along the bikes. I forget the exact model I have but seem to remember Traveler.Re: No Spare tire correctThink its the way things are going. My 17 super C came without...not offered as an option..... my 2015 dodge toad also bought new without a spare.
