I frantically turn my truck more right and my 5ver hits the tree on the left. In this case starboard or port won't help ME either.Re: Hitch DecisionI hate to comment on this site when Andersen is mentioned but the op has asked info from owners. I have a Andersen and really like it. I can hitch and unhitch at acute angles which has great benefits. I have the B&W which together with the Andersen smacked the wallet prety hard. I have removed the A 6 times this year and put it back in. Very easy to do (5 minutes) was my best time if you don't count the 10 minutes for me to climb in and out of my bed. I help a friend remove his Curt and it is a tedious job. There are great hitches out there but this one is great for me.Re: stupid mistakeLet's make this a sticky stay around. Leave it "stupid mistakes" or make it "What did you break this time?" Great reading, informative and fun for the readers not so much for the doers.Re: Tip: "Tractor" fuel = RV dieselI have a lot of information here and see a way to make a little camping money. The guilty ones send $10 and I will forget everything. There's a good chance I will forget everything by tomorrow anyway.Re: New to Fifth Wheels, Couple QuestionsI have a tonno pro tri-fold made with vinyl over alum. Great cover but when folded up it sets a little more 3 inches higher than by rails. Due to my fords bed length the tri-fold sections are fairly long and by adding a fuel tank in the bed the filler neck was under the torno cover so no good. I just replaced with a Tuxedo roll up which is so much easier to open and a lot more practical for my application. I will sell my tri-fold cheap. F250. Rusty2015 f250 diesel optionsI purchased this slightly used truck two years ago and ran the VIN to see the sticker. I did not pay too much attention and just now noticed that under optional equipment that they added larger wheels LT275/70R18E OWL ALL TERRAIN, 3.31 ELECTRONIC LOCKING AXLE, and 10000# GVWR Package among other options. The standard 2015 F250 Diesel allows me to pull my 12,300 GVW 5th wheel close to its limits. Does the Optional equipment beef up my truck a bit??? ThanksRe: Truck bed mat with 5th wheel hitchI have a Andersen Ultimate (without rails) mounted to a B/W.. They cut an opening for the B/W ball and the Andersen frame sets on the plastic liner...Re: Auxiliary gas tankI have a F250 and a 5 wheel that has perfect specs for the truck but a heavy load (auxiliary tank} would hurt my weight. I plan to have two 5 gal cans of diesel to keep in the bed. Sooo, I bought a siphon today with two 52" hoses both ways. They had 2 to select from one was a bulb like a marine bulb and the one I bought has a pump that you "pump". Now I would hope that I will not have to pump the entire 5 gals into my truck and by pumping a few times would start and drain my 5 gal containers. Would either (Marine bulb or pump} do this????Re: camper styling in america 2017Okay. His snoot is full. I kind of understand him after a couple of drinks. Take a shot and you too will understand him. LOLRe: Andersen hitch??I will address your questions with my experience It seems every time the topic comes up someone replies to Andersen Hitches yet doesn't own one but is quick to throw in the same negative comments. Enough pretty please. We are here to help and most of us try to help. I own an Andersen/B&W yet I am not pumping my ego with emotional garbage. The hitch works. I can remove it easily and carry it one hand to my garage. When unhitching or hitching my 5Ver, the TV does not have to be perfectly strait (vertical) to the trailer. In fact, I can be angled and I am still able to engage or disengages very smoothly. It works for me. However, you must consider the cost of buying two hitches (B&W and the Andersen). The ease of operations and handling was worth it for me. There is a lot of good hitches out there with pros/cons...
