We plan on ordering a 2017 (or possibly a 2018) F-350 4X4 Crew Cab PSD DRW XLT. We will likely be hauling our 1996 Lance 9’ 10” Legend 500 for a while and then buy a new Lance 1062 early next year. We will normally be towing a 7,000 lb car hauler. What I’m looking for are suggestions on options that you got and have worked out. Or options you didn’t get and wish you had. Any other suggestions on tie downs or whatever would be appreciated. Some of the areas I need help in are: Factory sprayed bed vs LineX Rear camera options (bed and tail gate) Wiring for truck to camper Wiring for truck to trailer Factory receiver hitch vs Torklift (we will probably go with Torklift tie downs) Seats (we want separate front seats with the console in between) Anything else you care to mention Any help is appreciated, Brad I will share what I just purchased / did the past 2 months. I have just over 2000 miles on my 2017. I purchased the 2017 Lariet Ultimate, crew cab DRW, 8 foot bed. I would recommend the spray in bed liner, it all done from factory and really like how it turned out. well worth the option price. I did both cameras in the cab light and tail gate. Love the cab camera, I can back up to the camper dead center nearly every time with no help. Well worth it. Get the camper package for all the wiring. Be done! I went with Torque lift 30k super hitch with a 48 inch super truss and the torque lift tie downs. I did add the torque lift upper spring mounts to engage the upper leaf spring sooner. WE did the separate front seats as well. If you ever think you will ever tow 5th wheel or goose neck, I would recommend the $375 dollar option and have it set up. As a reference I have a eagle cab 1200. The only other thing I am planning on doing is upgrading the wheels from 17" to 19.5" but have not decided yet.Re: New peopleWe were in a similar situation as well. We had the 38ft 5th wheel then down sized to a 23ft pull behind and now are in a TC. After a couple years in the 5th and tow behind we realized we packed more than we ever used. We actually pulled everything out and realized that we only used about 1/4th of what we ever packed. It was more of the "what if". I do agree with a couple comments, the sleeping in the cab over, its a change but did not really impact us much. The only issue I have right now as I am new to the TC is the loading and unloading takes me a bit longer than hitching up a 5th wheel and tow behind. Keeping it level... We do have the eagle cab 1200 and we have used it now just twice but are very happy with the change. We had 4 of us in the this past weekend and it was plenty of room for when we were in side, which wasn't much. As an additional note, I did drop the extra cash and went the torque lift super hitch 30k and run a 48 inch extension. Well worth it, IMO. Good Luck, BradRe: Tire Set Up AdviceThanks for the quick reply. I will be hauling an Eagle Cab 1200. I had the truck build with the heavy duty springs, sways and camper package from Ford. I have mainly just pulled 5th wheel 38 footer @ 16,000 lbs with my 2008 F350. With going to this new setup I went with a new truck as well. I am concerned with sidewall blow outs but maybe I shouldn't be?Tire Set Up AdviceHI All, Found the forum today while doing some searches and research on tire set ups. My wife and I have made the move from a 5th wheel, to a travel trailer down to a TC. I read the three threads on the 19.5s but have not found anything more recent than 2006/2007. My question is. I have a 2017 F350 DRW. The factory OEM is 17in wheels and 10ply tires. I am concerned on the weight so looking to upgrade to a 19.5 rim and tire. I see there are no fitment issues and I know the ride is stiffer, etc. My main concern is drive ability. I am looking to put an HDR (traction) type tire all the way around. I hear the steer tires (HSR) can pull the truck round, etc. Any advice on going from factory 17s, to 19.5s with a HDR traction tire all around. I will be using the truck off road at times as well. Thanks in advance, Brad
