KIA tells me to press the little button and move gear shift lever to neutral and that will FIX my little problem about "moving the key to off position while STILL LEAVING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, which means the steering wheel will be unlocked... I just was wondering whether anyone else had that problemRe: Tow dolly without brakesMy KIA dealer tells me: Leave key in the switch and press the button, front of gear shift lever, marked " Shift Lock Release" to bring it to neutral. When the transmission can be shifted to neutral so to put the key in OFF position...(it's been running my battery down going across country). This is what ACME tells me: "The vehicle should be in park with the parking brake released and the steering column unlocked. You can use the instructions that are on ACME's instructional video. This is the method we used for the Kia shown. However, you can always go with the information that your dealership tells you. We typically recommend checking with them for any additional methods for unlocking the steering column since every vehicle is different..." I, like you, thinks that if the wheels are strapped down (both front wheels) how the heck can the steering wheel turn? And as far "neutral goes" the dealer says there is movement in the front end, left to right and fore and aft that will damage my transmission, so it must not be left strapped down with no movement...Re: Tow dolly without brakesI tow a 2017 SPORTAGE with an ACME TOW DOLLY, with surge brakes, what's your feeling about traveling in NEUTRAL v/s IN PARK with steering wheel in UNLOCKED position, key in ignition?Re: Owners opinions, please. jpmihalk wrote: We purchased a 2016 Thor Hurricane in April 2016 and have been very happy with Thor and our dealer. There were a few issues, but they have all been handled quickly and professionally. Thor has been quick to respond to questions and they provided all kinds of schematic drawings upon request. We would gladly buy a Thor again. The Challengers are nice... just out of our price range. Amen on the PRICE RANGE! My opinion is, (just like a lot of us gaser's) a lot of folks get trapped into buying the big Diesel's and are strapped or at least overly concerned with how many dollars it continues to cost them, fuel, maintenance and just overall up keep. From the price of labor now a days $135.00 an hr +, I can sure understand it, We, like you bought a 2017 Hurricane and are enjoying it immensely! Bill AMEN, I agree completely!Re: Ford TransmissionI am with you on the "flushing", even though that is what most all dealers and "service point's" will do is "flush"... It is not hard to do it yourself although the tranny holds quite a few quarts, and it can be a little messy on the driveway. You can get that last quart out by removing the dust pan off the bottom of the tranny, and using a large blade screw driver, turn the transmission fly wheel and the last last quart will come out of the torque converter. I just don't don't trust dealers...When they pay their employees $7 to $8 dollars an hour, you get what you pay for.........Re: Miramar vs Hurricane vs NewmarI am sure glad to read these last few post...One of my post got messed up a week or so ago...Re: Miramar vs Hurricane vs Newmar Effy wrote: Hanko hates Thor.
