I have been wanting to buy a new GPS to replace my ancient Garmin car model. What brand and model do fellow RVers like and why? I have a 26 ft toy hauler but I would think the requirements would be fairly consistent for all trailers but is there something I don't know here?3.5KViews0likes9CommentsMetal framed toy haulers
We currently are on our second toy hauler, both were wood framed, and are thinking of upgrading to a little bigger bumper pull between 25 and 28 ft. and would like to find one that has a metal frame. So far all I've found are the Desert Fox, Lance and Keystone Hobbi. We ruled out the Hobbi because of the small ramp. We were thinking a unit between 2 and 8 years old with fueling station. Lippert makes the one I put in my toy hauler. I paid about $550 plus labor to have it installed. The weak spot on mine was where the bracket attached to the floor the floor needed quite a bit of reinforcing meaning a 1/4 inch plate had to be welded to two frame members otherwise it was starting to break the chip board floor. That was three years ago and no more problems. While it is a bit slower than manually lifting it is so much easier. This unit was an option on some of the high end Fuzion 5ers and some other big toy haulers.321Views0likes0CommentsRe: Floor plans for two people
I have a 21 ft bumper pull toy hauler that sleeps three quite well and holds either of my side by sides , but not at the same time. You need to off load the toy to sleep. The Liberty I looked at had a towing rating of 2,000 so I'm not sure about 5k with an equalizing hitch but it seems to me you are asking a lot of your tow vehicle, never a good idea in my opinion. If a salesman said you can haul that remember he only wants to make the sale. Toy haulers tend to be quite a bit heavier than the same size travel trailer then adding a 600lb motorcycle would be pushing that Jeep's and your safety to the edge IMO.169Views0likes0Comments
