I have a annoying creak in my floor in the kitchen right around the center of it. I have always assumed it was just the edges of the plywood sub-floor rubbing. We also have that annoying squeak in the kitchen. I'd really like to get under that lino to see what's up... My retirement date is August 1, so I too will be giving formal notice soon. Our 10-year plan has materialized!!! House is sold, we'll be living in the 5'er soon. Our son is buying the house, so it wasn't necessary to get rid of every last thing, some things we are storing here for now. We just purchased a Yamaha Majesty 400cc scooter. Weight 467 lbs. It IS going with us, either on the front end of TV ('08 Silverado 3500 dually diesel) or on back end of the Jayco (35RLTS) I know neither is a good idea, but like I said, the scoot IS going! Thoughts on which is the lesser evil?Re: Designer 35RLTS and Jayco Talk...Thanks Frank!!Thanks to all for the replies and suggestions. I will look soon to determine if I dare change the suspension myself. I figured it would involve supporting the entire rig high enough to allow the axles to drop down. When younger I often crawled under cars for various repairs or maintenance, but don't anymore. Not sure if I want to be under 12K supported by whatever I find in the garage. We don't look forward to the dealer removing (destroying?) cabinetry to install the oven, but Dawn is quite set on that. I will convey to her the positive comments on the convection operation. I think her main concern is the reliance on electricity, not the shortcoming of the convection oven. At first I was 100% set on a gas oven, but I am reconsidering... We noticed very early in the research process that Jayco omits the range when you select the convection oven. Well we certainly wouldn't have gotten the convection if we had known that. The dealer must realize they are at fault for not making us aware, and hopefully will make it right. Is the range delete specified in literature, or were you aware only by salesman's statement? EricRe: Designer 35RLTS and Jayco Talk...Thanks Frank!!Dawn and I took delivery of our RLTS yesterday from Buffalo RV. Never towed anything larger than utility trailers before, so getting it into our suburban driveway was a task I hadn't looked forward to, but it didn't go too badly. Nice towing rig but it sure can push around a 1-ton dually over uneven pavement! As noted previously, the back end stab jacks do hang low. Also I think we're not level enough. Had them install a Reese Signature 18K (underbed rails) and two guys worked on it all day. When we finally hooked up the default height of the hitch was too low, and by then the guys were in no mood to split hairs, so they moved the hitch up two holes, as high as the Reese will go. That, combined with the MorRyde suspension at it's low setting, and I am too low in the back. Is this suspension change something I can do in my driveway? Haven't gone out this morning to look things over yet. One major problem with the unit itself is we didn't get an oven! Apparently Jayco substitutes a cooktop when you order the convection microwave upgrade. Isn't that thoughtful of them. Nothing we saw in any literature indicated this, and as we plan to live in this trailer for 4-5 months every year, we let the dealer know that a range WILL be installed. The only question is who pays for it. I assume and hope that is between Jayco and Buffalo RV. Mark, one of the ownership group, doesn't think Jayco will cover it, but he seemed to be accepting responsibility. I'll let you know how this one turns out. Only other big problem was a stripped gear on the rear stab jack motor. The tech said it worked fine the day before when he went through everything. I suspect the guy doing our walkthrough may have stripped it by hitting the wrong direction when he was demoing it for us. I seem to recall a slight grinding noise when he first tried it, and from then on the motor spun, but the long rod wasn't turning. After the tech removed the motor, you could see that the gear is pretty fine, not too beefy at all. As there is no auto-shutdown or slip clutch I would suggest care when retracting... when it stops going up, shut down! Also when extending, I plan to stop on moderate contact and finish seating the feet with the hand crank. EricRe: Designer 35RLTS and Jayco Talk...Thanks Frank!!Well I haven't posted since about page 9 or 10, but it's a real job pulling everything together when buying a new tow vehicle and 5er. Didn't realize it before. But I've kept up with the thread. Too long of a story for here, but there aren't many 2-wheel drive GM diesel duallies within 500 miles of Buffalo! (And when you find one your dealer really has to twist arms to swap at such distances.) But the new TV is finally in my driveway tonight. Chevy 3500 D/A dually. Line-X sprayed next week. Anyone with a white TV that had pinstriping or graphics applied to complement their Designer? Mountain theme or generic? Colors? EricRe: Designer 35RLTS and Jayco Talk...Thanks Frank!!To moderator, Frank I too value the exchange of info I see here. Specifically concerning the 35RLTS, which I will be taking delivery of very soon. I try to keep chatter down, as I think most everyone here does, but sometimes we get slightly carried away about our common interest. I have seen few posts blatently off-topic, if this topic is 35RLTS. That is why I keep up with this thread. It's almost a CHORE because of the nature of individual threads in online forums, that is the sequential nature of it, and not being able to easily access something you saw recently. But I persevere, and look forward to checking in daily! EricRe: Designer 35RLTS and Jayco Talk...Thanks Frank!!eaherrmann We were at Buffalo RV today and spoke with Ryan. I mentioned that someone on this forum was coming soon for their 35RLTS and he said he was also your salesman. Nice guy. No snow in Buffalo today... it was 86!!! Broke the record by 6 degrees. They are saying ours may be in Monday. Planning to have a Reese Signature 18K installed Wednesday. They not only price out well on RV's but will really chop costs on accessories, warranties, whatever. Be persistant and go over the salesman's head if you don't get the pricing you think they can do. Ryan, Mark, Crissy, and Jackie have all been great! Hope things go as well after payment. EricRe: Designer 35RLTS and Jayco Talk...Thanks Frank!!Well Dawn and I are looking for a TV for the 35RLTS we are expecting in a couple of weeks. After looking at everyone's profiles looks like an even split between 3/4 ton SRW's and 1 ton duallys. Has anyone weighed their rigs loaded? Wondering how difficult it is to load it to over 15000 lb. Won't start anything over gas v diesel, already decided on diesel. Just trying to decide on SRW v DRW. Looking hard at new Chevys. We get a GM discount, and rebates for our situation total $5250. Over $10000 off sticker all told! Just have to fight for a decent trade-in allowance... EricRe: Designer 35RLTS and Jayco Talk...Thanks Frank!!cruz, noticed in your profile... 1988 Honda Goldwing - been all over the country and Canada on it - Now to visit those places when we go full time ... hopefully soon !! Do you still have the Wing? What do you think of hauling one with the Designer? I've got an 1800 that I'd like to bring along when we start snowbirding in '09. EricRe: Designer 35RLTS and Jayco Talk...Thanks Frank!!Well as for how we optioned the unit we really spent more than we ever planned on.(I'm sure we're the first buyers to ever do THAT) It's just so easy to check off items when ordering, unlike choosing between units in stock. Gel-coat, maple cabinets,10 ft frig,washer,42"tv,both vents,2nd AC,mor/ryde pkg, awnings, other stuff. One thing that couldn't be changed was the interior, so we ended up with our 2nd choice, Cape Verde. I did want the generator prep; it lists on the web site for $464. But the retail is actually over $700, so I nixed that one. What will I be missing just plugging the shoreline into a portable gen? Eric
