WNYBob- Ditto here... cracking two vents and a small side window works great regardless of weather conditions. I don't add dehumidifier or desiccant, not that either would hurt provided they were serviced regularly. Conversely, I attempted the 'sealed' technique (shut roof vents & windows, then covered with tarp) with the prior rig... nothing but mildew and mold come spring. Never again... conclusion, gotta let them breathe! I will say, my Pa-in-Law does a bit of a combination of dehumidifier, desiccant, and cracking a vent; he's never had a problem despite also being in the PNW BBF291Views0likes0CommentsRe: 4 USB Charger Stations Installed in AF 990 (Pics)
great install; you're about two weeks ahead of me! (Dang work travel). Was planning on the same location above the bed, but have been waffling on the lower location(s). Was considering one of the new combo USB-conventional 3-prong outlets by the cabover step to save a hole, then a USB only near the dinette. Agreed on the 4.10s w/ 35's; may want to also consider inspecting/rebuilding/replacing the factory rear LS (if equipped) while you're at it... same labor once you have the diffs pulled. If not present from the factory, the Detroit TruTrac has some great reviews for both the F&R applications Re: transmission management, especially re: converter lock/unlock, take a look at the Banks TransCommand. Coming from someone that has run SRW from the beginning, but is looking to move into DRW for our current AF camper, my vote would be to stay with DRW- especially considering the trailer! After the kiddos & pups go to bed, we flip on the range hood light, which I purposely replaced with the smallest LED wedge I could find, faces down, and lives behind a frosted cover. This puts just enough light in the rig for DW & I to return from the campfire for a refill without tripping over a fur-kid (both black lab mixes) or flipping on an extra light No kiddos present, hunting camp, or father/son weekend and we rely on the stars, moon, and campfire- well the first two at least this summer in the NW...
