I used a rope slung over the spare tire hanger. (remove spare when installing this sway bar) The rope held it up as I bolted it in. I propped up the bar with jack stands, easy peasy. I installed the sway bar alone in an hour, from the posts here and the reviews on Amazon I expected it to be a horrible ordeal. I have a gas engine though, so didn't have to deal with some issues. I haul a truck camper on my 2016 and the Rancho's didn't really do alot for me, it was the Big Wig that really stabilized my truck.Re: LED Lights Kayteg1 wrote: How do you like output of those? I counted 50 total LED on those, when my converted fixtures have 300 LED over the table and DW still complain about not enough. I have one fixture above the dinette, one above the sink, one in front of the fridge and one in the bed area, all the factory locations. Light output has never been an issue (way brighter than the previous lights), in fact I usually only have half the fixture switched on. One issue with them is hard to explain, they cast a white and yellow striped pattern on everything. It's subtle but I notice it. That said, I would install the same as replacements to incandescent fixtures again without question.Re: 9K Coleman AC and Yami 2kI know this topic is contentious but after a bunch of research I'll picked up a Ryobi 2300 (RYI2300BTA) generator this summer. Aside from the Honda with it's Hondaness and the Yamaha with it's Yamahaness, the Ryobi seems like the best inverter gen out there. It runs my 13.5 btu Dometic with eco off (and with the charger/converter on). I've been very happy with it and it has some nice features that others do not have.Re: Which Truck? MiniAdventures wrote: My Dodge 2500 Hemi has been great, but, with nearly 300,000 miles I think it may be time to get a new Truck to haul my Lance 815 (1650# dry weight). Was wondering what truck/model TC'ers are thinking/buying/running lately. (I hear Ford has a 1500 configuration with over a 3000# payload). Thanks Just to circle back on one part of your original question. I recently looked to replace my Sierra 2500 and was looking at the Ford F150 CC w/ heavy duty payload package and the 6.5' bed. It's really close to a 3/4 ton in theory. The problem is, it's a unicorn on the lots and if you order one you'll be in it for more that a F250 (I ended up with a CPO 2016 F250). Also, I have a Lance 805 which is smaller and lighter than the 815 and I weigh in at almost exactly 2000lbs on the scale, so I would start there.Re: LED LightsIn my 2008 Lance, I just replaced all the interior lights with these: http://a.co/cQeQvB7 It took about 3 mins per fixture to replace them. Re: New Camper + Question on towing toysMy trailer and the camper jacks do get real friendly when I turn sharp. I just don't turn sharp.Re: Lance 805 on a Toyota Tundra?I have a 2008 Lance 805 and its just a bit over 2000lbs on the scales. I have it on my 2016 F250 and needed to add Sumosprings and a Big Wig to get the things to handle properly (My 2004 GMC 2500 handled it better actually). I know it was marketed to half-ton owners but plan on it really feeling like you are maxed out when it's loaded.Re: Sway bar Faststreak wrote: Thanks for info, I am going to order one. Going to Missouri Ozarks the second week of July for a truck camper Rally. First trip with new Ram dually and Hosts cascade. Don’t think I can get the sway bar here and installed before we go. I ordered a Big-wig for my 16 Super Duty last Saturday. With Amazon Prime shipping, I had it on Tuesday. Thursday night took the camper off the truck, backed it into the garage, dropped the spare, installed the sway bar (alone), reinstalled the spare and loaded the camper up in 3 hrs total. You can do it!Re: Small portable gas can:How about bringing something like this along? https://www.lowes.com/pd/TRUFUEL-110-fl-oz-4-Cycle-Fuel/50328935 It's basically $20 a gallon but if you plan to top off your gen when you can at a gas station, one can of this should provide insurance just in case.
