Check it out here: http://www.lslproducts.net/ToadChargePage.html Also, as previously mentioned, if your battery is 5 years old, your biggest problem might be the age, but without a Toad Charge you probably have been taking the battery DOWN quite a bit, so if you DO change your battery, I'd suggest you seriously look at the Toad Charge.Re: Dish Sat. Spot Beam QuestionUpfront-I have Direct AFTER dropping Dish several years ago--BUT 'spot beam' technology is the same for both. Spot beams can be 'spotty' (pun intended) at best; for BOTH Dish AND Direct. Some spot beams have a WIDE coverage--for example Phx for direct can be obtained as far away as Rocky Point Mexico and Las Vegas NV but NOT much farther west than the edge of Tucson and not much further north than just past Flagstaff. In Denver and Colorado Springs area the spot-beams overlap so if you are in C. Springs for example and call direct and tell them that is where you are they will ONLY let you hook up with c. springs. BUT if you call direct and give them a Denver address, even though you are in C. springs--bingo you get the Denver channels instead of the crappier C. Springs channels. The key is the 'address' you give the 'phone person' as to which spot beam you get--at least that is the game you play with direct, maybe Dish will give you want you want BUT doubt it because that is one of the reasons they got in trouble several years ago with the FCC and lost being able to offer their own distant stations and had to go with an outside vendor. I agree with Roy B--usually you don't need to change your 'spot beam' provider if you have 'distant network' coverage because you can usually get the locals via OTA AND it is HD. If you want to 'record' a ABC, CBS, etc program, just record it off the 'distant' corresponding channel, and yet for local news and weather-look at the OTA channel for that area.Re: Cell phone service for Canada -> U.S. if no sim card?Call Verizon. My wife is going to Canada for two weeks and Verizon has a special going on regarding Mexico and Canada. right now you can get up to 3 months (but can do as little as ONE month) for $5. It gives you text, data, and phone calls. Normal price is $15 per month. Limit on data is 100mg (not Gigabytes), and can't remember the limits on talk and messaging. VERY reasonable.Re: Anti-Theft Ideas for RV Flagpoles?maybe this will help answer your question. Never can figure out why people who do NOT contribute a answer TO the actual question have to post their own 'belittlements', especially the sarcastic ones, but then guess that is just the way some people operate. On my Titan pole, I first of all use a receiver pin lock (the one that has a combo lock built in on the end of the pin), then I bought a U-shaped bicycle lock made by MasterLock. I then--with the flag pole in the receiver holder, drilled two holes to match the u-shapped lock prongs. Was not difficult to drill. It not only provides a deterrent to theft but also keeps the pole from accidentally blowing out in severe winds. Keep flying the American flag proudly. To the other 'blow hards'--better 'safe than sorry'---it's kind of like 'conceal carry'---you might only need it ONCE, but IF you DO need it ONCE--you probably REALLY need it.Re: A/B Switch for satellite? You can use a regular a/b switch---doesn't have to be a special one. I use one to switch between my Winegard Slimline and my Kingdome 'in motion' system. There are actually TWO a/b switches I use with two lines from EACH the Winegard AND Kingdome going into the a/b's then one wire from each into the two inputs on the back of the dvr.Re: Lost our little traveling companiontruly sorry for your loss. to me, this is the hardest part of having a dog. unfortunately, we are within a year or so of experiencing the pain you are now having. Just remember ALL the great times and memories, definitely outweigh the sadness you have at this time. hope your heart heals a little each day.Re: Any tricks to keeping a motorcycle clean in towed?Like you-I've used the Overbilt Lift, Full enclsed wells Cargo trailer, Rampart loader in back of pickup bed, and several different trailers. when using the back of the pickup I used a Gatorhide http://www.gatorhide.com/index.html Good pictures at this URL and you'll get an idea of how it works. It has a soft flannel covering that is then covered by a heavier cover and a unique 'bungee' system to secure so no wind flapping. The flannel inside cover kept ANY minor flapping from marring the paint. I'm now using this really light wt trailer that I can actually triple tow behind my tow vehicle it seals over the bike and NOTHING gets in. Of all the things I've tried, this one works the best. It is called a Toy Carrier google toy carrier canadian and you'll see some pictures of it (white shell)Re: Generator Ground -Neutral BondingGREAT info. thanks. Don't know why Honda doesn't indicate this information MORE CLEARLY>Re: Advice on 30 amp Install at HomeLot of horror stories about people who have plugged into plugs that a house dryer was set up for---as mentioned several times--BE sure he does not wire it like a 220 dryer would be wired. Also, don't know what type of rv your kids have but if they have a 50 amp system they will NOT be able to run two a/c's at the same time like you can on 50 amp. Also would be a good idea to have them not use electric option to heat the water--other than that a good wired 30 amp system is definitely the way to go. Depending on how far the plug will be from their rv, you may need to either invest in a TRUE 30 amp extension cord if they don't have one--would suggest you not try to just use a standard heavy duty extension cord.Re: Do you drain your hot water tank?at least once a year, you also need to use a 'flush out' tool to get the sediment from the bottom of the tank flushed out EVEN IF YOU DRAIN it frequently. The tool is easily obtainable at any RV store or Camping World and only costs a few bucks. Just a simple hard plastic tube that is slanted down at the end. You attach it to the end of a water hose and move it back and forth in the 'drain plug' hole. You will be amazed at the GUNK it will wash out of what you THOUGHT was a clean hot water tank.
