Here's the new rig at the South Bay Campground. Horsetooth Falls - not a terribly difficult trail just west of the reservoir Ahh, relaxing by the fire overlooking the reservoir We got the pass that's good for the year and covers this as well as other great campgrounds in the county. A little more if you're not a resident, which we currently aren't but may become so, but still worth it.Re: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Here's the new rig, finally together. I took the trailer in for little warranty items in early April, a couple of days later bought this F150. 6+ weeks later I finally picked up the trailer and the dealer adjusted the hitch and swapped brake controllers. The reason the work took so long was mainly because of the microwave. It was getting condensation in the door glass, meaning it wasn't sealed properly. They duplicated it and said it should be replaced. The replacement unit didn't work, and then Rockwood decided to completely replace this brand (Hamilton?) with Magic Chef, which took at least 3 weeks to arrive. On the upside, while it was sitting there I had them reroute the water line to the bottom of the fresh water tank (I had written previously how the bottom 1/3rd was wasted and not sucked into the pump), which they did a great job - at no expense! On the downside, the heated mattress was replaced due to the door under it tearing the bottom (sharp edges). They didn't soften those edges much and it ripped on the first time it was raised and lowered - right at the dealer! Another mattress on the way, and this time they put in foam sticky tape at least.Re: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The trailer weighs about 4200lbs empty, plus a 1900lb cargo carrying capability. The Mountaineer, with 4.6L V8 tows 6,850lbs. The Fastway Zip is a coiled breakaway cable, they have different lengths for TT's or 5vers. The Fastway Flip sure makes getting a lot of height quick and easy, making the WD hitch bars easier to get on and off. It retracts like landing gear on an airplane and I used the wood blocks I used to have for firewood. cekkk described the Trojan T105. I wasn't prepared for how heavy they were, and pulling them out at an odd angle is a potential back breaker.Re: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Here's our new trailer, a 2011 Rockwood MiniLite 2502S. Have left the hybrid world and are now travel trailer'in it. Got the dealer to include 2 Trojan T105's, swap over my WD hitch (E2), Fastway Flip, Fastway Zip, and put in a 3 12v receptacles. Tows like a dream, and got better gas mileage (uphill and high altitude) than my old hybrid that weighed 600lbs less. Either the extra axle makes that much of a difference or the other one had mechanical issues. Either way, I'm a happy camper. Re: ~Post your campsite photos here~Below is our first campground with our new hybrid. Glenwood Canyon RV Resort, Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Nice place, the river is great, but the train across the river is brutally loud a few times in the middle of the night. Pic taken 6/30/10 The next stop on our Grand Canyon trip was Lake Powell. Below is our spot at Wahweap Marina RV Park & Campground. Paved roads and spots, sparse foliage, blazing hot temperatures - but then again, this pic was taken 7/3/10. The lake is a whole lot of fun. Finally, Las Vegas New Mexico KOA. It's a pretty typical KOA, but at least it's fairly high altitude, some trees, and cool temps for the middle of summer. Pic taken 7/8/10. Re: ~Post your campsite photos here~ We have camped at Flatiron Res.CG and really love it there. :@ BTW...do you remember what campsite number you camped at (in the photos)? The site looks very nice indeedy. We have booked two separate camp-outs at Flatiron Res.CG for this coming summer. Can't wait to go there again! That is F27, and definitely pay attention to the high water markers all around the reservoir. Unlike Carter or Horsetooth that go way down and stay there until they refill it months later, Flatiron will go up and down within the matter of hours. There are quite a few very nice sites there, F24 and F10 come to mind, but all of the sites along the water are great.Re: ~Post your campsite photos here~ Been to Jack's Gulch CG...just riding through the CG to take a look at it while camping down the road at Mountain Park CG along the Poudre River. It really looked like a lovely CG. :@So have you had problems making reservations online over on recreation.gov for Jack's Gulch CG? Why I ask is because every time I check out the CG's reservations on that website..the only site available/open is the group-campsite. I don't understand why that site is the only one online showing as open Mountain Park looks pretty nice, but we had a hard time getting reservations there, so we tried Jacks Gulch. You can't reserve spots at JG, it's all first come, first served. I see what you mean on recreation.gov and reserveamerica.com about that campground, was just going to blow it off, instead took a drive up to see it and it was well worth it, one of our favorites. The dirt road there is in pretty good shape, gets steep and narrow at times, and dispersed camping all along the way. Not a lot to do there, but that's why we like it. There are a couple of old military crashed airplanes in the area, someday I'll try to locate them.Re: ~Post your campsite photos here~Thanks, ReneeG. The wife wasn't sure she wanted our secret spots shared, but I've learned so much from this forum and the people who post here, I couldn't hold back. These next pictures are from a place I'd really prefer kept secret, but the word will get out eventually on this gem - if the Beetlekill doesn't do it in.
