Leaving next week for a 7-week trip through the NE, and have a Vermont routing questions please. 2022 F450 towing a 36' 5th wheel (16K lbs) Lots of driving experience, even in mountains. Going from Jelly Beans RV Park (Brasher, NY) to Dolly Copp Campground (Gorham, NH), and RV Life avoids VT Hwy 58 from Montgomery to Orleans. But it looks a lot shorter. Headed up to RMNP in July for a few weeks. Starting at Stillwater near Grand Lake, then over to Estes Park at Mary's Lake for a couple weeks. My question is the route to Stillwater from Raton Pass. I'm pulling a 36ft 5th wheel (16K lbs) with a Ford dually with exhaust brake tune. Lots of mountain driving experience. Def want to avoid Denver. Looks like there are three good options other than going thru Denver: A - cut off at Walsenburg and go up thru Salida, Leadville, Silverthorn, Kremmling, Granby. B - cut off at Pueblo and go up thru Canon City, Silverthorn, and on up. C - Co Springs and over to Hartsel, up to Silverthorn, and on up. Which would you choose? We'll be driving to Topsail SP in a couple weeks from the west. Pulling a 36ft 5th wheel with a dually. Google Maps says to exit I-10 on hwy 85 toward Niceville, then 293 down to 98 and left over to Topsail. Seems like that sends us through a (usually?) congested area. Sorry to hijack this thread, but I could use some help from the Chatt locals please. We will be going to Cloudland SP in early June, coming from Boone, NC area. We're pulling a 36ft 5th wheel with a dually. Google maps says to take IHs 75 to 24 to 59 and exit to hwy 136. It looks like that takes you over a pretty good pass. Is this advisable with camper?
