Look at the youtube video "Why We Ditched The Andersen Hitch". I did s simple search "Andersen Ultimate 2 hitch failures". In all fairness, the video above could be considered an extreme circumstance. The trailer was hit while driving and went into a fish tale, but didn't fail, nor lose the trailer. I would question any hitch after that - especially one connected to the goose ball.Re: Extended Warranty- is it worth it?What I've found with my last three trailers is they never really build'em like they used to. With our first trailer, we replaced both bunk ends (it was a hybrid) and a water heater in the 3rd year - total cost $2000 (lots of labor cost). In this case a warranty would have saved me money. The 2nd trailer had only decals pealing after 3 years and a water heater controller in 5 years. Had we bought a warranty, we'd have lost money. Our current has to have a thermostat, new water heater, and faulty wiring for one slide replaced during the first year. You bet you bottom, I'm buying a warranty. Each unit is different - you need to assess this with how savvy you are to make your own repairs. For me, I don't have the time or knowledge to make major repairs and know first hand that $100-$200/hr labor rates are the killer for any dealer service call.Re: LCI Ground Control 3.0 for TTIt came on my new Cougar. Very slick! No movement whatsoever when engaged! Needs to be pretty level to begin with, however. I still have to use my lego blocks if too far out of level from side to side.Re: F150 threadWe picked up a new F150 Ecoboost to replace our half ton Suburban - hands down the best decision for towing we could have made. It pulls our 9000lb Cougar like a feather without sway bars needed. It's first big trip will be to TN in April ... can't wait to see how she does in the mountains!Re: Hitch will not come off the ball.We just replaced our hitch due to a theft and the new one has the same issue. With a well greased ball, especially on an incline, I have to step up on the hitch and use my body weight to help break her free.Re: How did antifreeze get in fresh water tank?!?!?!?!I think the fw tank was 2/3 full. Hopefully that left enough room for expansion.Re: How did antifreeze get in fresh water tank?!?!?!?!While we have 40 degree weather, if I drain whats left in the water tank , do I risk drawing anymore antifreeze from the water lines throughout the trailer? How did antifreeze get in fresh water tank?!?!?!?!In a rush to winterize this fall, I forgot to drain the fresh water tank. Everything else was done, antifreeze in the lines and all. We have just went though several weeks of sub zero temps in Michigan and now that it's warming a bit and I can turn the valve to drain the tank, antifreeze is coming out. How in the world would antifreeze have gotten in the fresh water tank? If I drain it, could it draw antifreeze from my lines? I know I could be in a world of hurt come spring. Please send suggestions to help me mitigate the damage!
