Take a flashlite and look at the pedistal outletRe: Macerator pump questionsI love my macerator. Recently I had to replace gaskets on it. You wonder how a little pump can discharge all that waste. The impeller is about 2" in diamiter and 3/8 wide. it pumps through a couple of pencil size holes. why worry about it, just accecpt that it works so well. When we go home I know I can clean out the tank rather than having a treat waiting for me next time I get to a parkRe: Tires...I know, tired subjecti put on 16 wheels and disc brakes at the same time. Which was kinda good. The trucks keep getting higher and that leveled the camper out somewhat. Used a LR E tire. LT tire I dont remember and cant go look size. Had over #700 per wheel spare weight. Still blew tires. The ones I had were Uniroyal USA. No better I really think the twisting and rolling at the same time during parking screws up the cords more than anything else.Re: Towing a 42 footer… What do you think?Finding a pull thru is'nt always possible as you well know, or will find out. A friend of mine has one of those Behemouths. He wises it were smaller. Heck, it's our camper and your money. Do what you want. I would just as soon go shorter and I have only 28 ft. Can I assume it's a tri axle? If so it wont's turn as good in parking.More tires to buy, harder on springs and frame as it turns in cramped corners.Re: 5th wheel rails and a truck camperI built a 2x2 frame to go around the rails. Supports the whole tc all the way around and covered it with a piece of 1/4" hardboard. Perfect fit and real light to carry out of the way.Re: Seeking advice on new TC purchaseBefore I signed on the bottom line, I'd ask for a REAL weight on the TC. The dealer gave me a figure that was over 800# off. He took the factory specs and did NOT add the options.A cat reciept would have been great. Any truck would work. Just add or subtract the camper.Saving money would be great, but getting it fixed in warrentee might be difficult unless you take it to the dealer. And you know there will be something.Re: Weight of air vs. Nitrogenare you sure they didn't fill tires with HELIUM?Re: 75 Speed Limit - How FastREMEMBER back in the 70's when speed limit was 55. Now we have unlimited fuel so lets all do our part to use as much as we can. It's never going to run out. I run around 62. I've always gotten where I was going. I'm retired, time is what I have. More time than money,so I slow it down and last trip 14.9 mpg. And when a tire (tires) blew, I think I wss more in control at 60+ that say 75.Do what you need to do but please don't take me out or hold up traffic when you have a high speed oop'sRe: Experience towing w/ 2WD F250, 2500 or other 3/4 tonbought a F250 with the V10. 2 wheel drive.Sorriest day of my camping experience. V 10 had no power in the "hills of AZ" and after calling Ford about the problem and they said" It's the computer, it may take a week to adjust to the altitude. I said " i'am passing thru and won't be at altitude tomorrow. Airplanes don't take days or weeks to adjust. My wife said"when we get home you are getting a diesel. A week later I had a new duramax. More power than i'll ever use. BUT, i lost my butt because the Ford was 2 wheel drive. Nobody in Wi wants them. I guess they wholesaled it to Texas. Never have I used 4 wheel drive while the camper was being used.Re: End of the road for Travel LiteBought my 840 SBRX 2 years ago and its been a very good purchase. Very well made with only minor (and I mean Minor) defects. Only thing I didn"t like is it's real weight is around #600 more than sticker. If they do indeed go out of business I feel that what I have will last me till my camping days are over. It's made well and appliances, etc can be purchased from a lot of sorces.
