Does anyone have experience with that network? Their coverage map does not seem to be as extensive at Verizon's.Re: Route 9 in VTCan't find a gator!?! It rains gators in Florida. Just find any body of water and there will be a gator in it. Every golf course has gators. Manatees are a little tougher. Best bet is crystal River area in during the winter months. Just scan the waters for their "footprints." But alas, we all need to have something to strive to find in the future to keep us going.Re: Route 9 in VTYeah I don't know what I am doing wrong. We have been on the roads insanely early, about 5 am, later at night, taken a Moose Tour at Baxter State Park, gone up to the Aroostook Nature Preserve at the now defunct AFB...and NOTHING. We have hiked the trails to all the "hot spots." What they have been telling me, is that it has been so warm this year, and water is warm that the Moose have moved further back into the forest. But, I am not giving up hope yet because we still have NH, VT, and NY and hopefully the weather will be cooling off. I don't think I will try the "drive like a nut case at night" tactic though as I am not desperate enough. I don't want to tag them, just photograph them from a distance. :)Re: Route 9 in VTThat is all some great information. I went ahead and booked us into the KOA for 5 nights. Unfortunately they are all booked up for Labor Day weekend, so I had to find somewhere else to go. No problem though, as from there we will be heading to the Catskills for a week and then the Adirondacks for a week, and this is all after a week in NH and the 5 nights in Vermont. Very excited about the next part of our trip. We have been visiting Maine for the last 6 weeks and have been loving the Northeast. I haven't found any Moose yet, but I haven't given up hope. Still a lot of time left. :)Re: Route 9 in VTThank you both for your responses. I am surprised that my Mountain East guide did not mention this pass, so I am extremely thankful to find out about it. My husband and I are evaluating, and might just book at the KOA off of the 91. Although we have a good truck and have no problems hauling through the mountains out west, it is 6 years old so when we can avoid hauling through steep grades and hopefully extend the life of our truck we like to do so. Thanks again. LizRoute 9 in VTHi, I am wondering how the Route 9 in Vermont is. We will be coming from NH off of the I 91. We are looking at booking a the Greenwood Lodge and Campsites. We are hauling a 38' 5th wheel. We see in our guide that there are some steep grades 6 miles east of Bennington, but we are not sure if this RV park is before that part. We would go back out the way we went in. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you very much. LizIndiana RoadsWe just finished towing through Indiana from Nashville, Tn. We took the I65 and the roads are in bad shape, but then when we got onto the I69 heading East it was even worse. We will try to avoid this state in the future. We thought Birmingham, AL was bad, but Indiana is much much worse. This is a shame as the last time we went through Indiana about 4 years ago, the roads were pretty nice, but not anymore.Re: Baxter State Park Maine Big Rig Friendly RV Park? GaryInMaine wrote: This site may help. Maine Camping Guide There is an interactive map that may help you find a campground. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me, I am very familiar with the area. Thank you very much for that. Unfortunately there is nothing available close to Baxter State Park, so I have reserved a site farther out and we are renting a cabin at Big Moose Cabins and Inn in Millinocket. I like to be at the hiking trails really early, so this seemed like the best option. Thank you to everyone that responded.Re: Where are you headed in 2016?I have made reservations from MI to NY to MA to ME starting from June 1st thru August 8th so far. If you want to visit the MA and ME area this summer you need to start getting your reservations in as a lot of the places are booking up. At Normandy Farms in Foxboro, MA there were only 3 sites available for the dates that we wanted. The bigger your rig the less sites there are available. When I travel out west I usually just wing it, but with the New England states reservations are needed. Happy and safe travels to all. :)Re: Baxter State Park Maine Big Rig Friendly RV Park? photonut4 wrote: GaryInMaine wrote: Take a look at Pine Grove. I have never stayed there, but have visited a couple of times, nice quiet setting, easy to maneuver, with pull through sites. This place looks perfect! Thank you so much. I am going to call today and see if they have a pull thru available. Fingers crossed as a lot of places are filling up/or have filled up for the coming season. :) Oh bummer they do not have any availability. On to plan B.
