Yeah, Johno02, Memphis was an area of concern for my husband. The Graceland RV Resort looked nice, but my husband who has been to Memphis and the Graceland area (I have not) said that Grceland is not in the nicest part of the city these days, so we were concerned thaat as nice as it looks it's in a fringe neighborhood. I have been considering Tom Sawyer and a KOA in Marion, AR. In Hot Springs saw some options, unfortunately as this is our first visit in the area and don't know enough about their Corps camps or State Parks we're likely to pick a private camp due to the size of our rig. Majestic Oaks and Osage Beach in Missouri are both on our list - actually waiting to hear back from them on availability since we'll be arriving Saturday July 6th and we're sure the 4th of July campers will still be hanging in thru Sunday. Thanks again for your suggestions! And happy Father's Day to the dads out there!Recommend RV Parks Memphis/Hot Springs/Lake of the Ozarks?Heading to Memphis, Little Rock/Hot Springs, AR, and Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri in the coming weeks and looking for campground/RV Park recommendations suitable for a 40-foot 5th wheel, two boys (ages 16 & 12), full hook-up, and with a swimming pool preferred. We will be going on a two-week tour of these cities and vicinities (Little Rock, Crater of Diamonds SP are also on the list of sights/locations, but our "base camp" locations are those listed in the subject heading - Memphis, Hot Springs and Lake of the Ozarks. Any advice, suggestions great appreciated. Thanks!Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosBay leaf oil?? Where does one buy this? Don't recall seeing it at the grocery store, so I'm thinking it's more of an "essential oil" the kind used in aromatherapy?? Please let us know.... I'd rather wipe a little oil than leave bits and pieces of bay leaf sprinkled around... Bet it's expensive, otherwise I'd consider a pump spray bottle...:BRe: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosWOW I didn't know that about bay leaves...and I think I read on here earlier about oregano...LOVE those spices and glad to hear the critters don't!! Also, the Vaseline trick...although I don't know if I'd like to have to wipe that goop off after every outing :( We've used the Calgon, but still had sensor problems in our last unit even with our Saniflush system, what really helped us was the Flush King...when you have the time at the dump station or with full hook-ups it really was helpfull to give the tank a thorough flush from the "bottom up" as opposed to the "top down" as the Saniflush systems seem to do...with the flush king we could fill the tank and lift tissue that was stuck to the sensor and then the clear pipe allowed us to watch for cleaner water coming out of the tank, which indicated it was pretty well flushed out. Even with our new rig we attach the flush king just for the visual confirmation that the tank is clean. I still use the Calgon in conjunction with all of the other. As for keeping the bowl clean...Have never heard of using PAM in the bowl...and I think some else mentioned waxing the bowl...hmmmm....good ideas. Oh, and for the rugs...on our hard flooring surfaces I have no problems since the rugs are rubber backed, but the few throws I have over carpeting (trying to preserve the original carpeting!) I use the rolled gripper fabric cut to the dimensions of the rug or I use "carpet tape" and I've had good luck with both techniques...just be careful when removing the carpet tape from the throw rug it can tear the backing up if not removed slowly and carefully.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosWell, it took me quite some time to read through all of these great ideas and so many of them are things we do in our fiver, but I've now got a running list of things I'll consider doing in our unit...not to mention about 12 additional browser windows open with websites referenced here that look like great resources for RV-friendly products. This is a great thread...and if I come up with anything interesting or new I'll post, but looks like I've got some internet surfing and shopping to do...:WRe: Family Camping GroupsIn Georgia: go to Yahoo Groups look up "Georgia Camping" for our group that hosts monthly family outings, potluck dinners and activities in and around Georgia.
