That's no good!Re: Consumer Reports Generator Test HF vs Honda RedRocket204 wrote: I've got two of the Champion 2000W gens with the parallel kit. They have been flawless so far . I'm on year 5 with my 2 Champion 2000s. Zero issues. Used for job site power tools to running water pumps from our ponds to dry camping.Re: all over the roadI've pulled trailers from 16' to 32 1/2 with my 3/4 ton Chevy and I have used WD and sway control and I have also gone without it. A properly balanced load makes all the difference in the world, especially before you hook up the bars. And using WD doesn't make up for a lack of common sense.Re: city parking ordinaneMy point was that maintaining an RV at your residence does not automatically decrease the value of the home. Property values based on keeping an RV on your property is subjective. The value of owning a corner lot or an in ground swimming pool is also subjective. There are folks who will love the pool and others who will consider the upkeep and water bills a negative. Corner lot is a nice view or it means more traffic and trash. A nice RV on site can imply the owners have means, travel, have diverse lifestyles; see it all is directed by the individual's viewpoint.Re: city parking ordinane RTCastillo wrote: First it is unsightly and lowers the value of the properties in the area (ask those who looks into buying new homes, an RV parked anywhere is to them sign of lax ordinance or HOA regulation implementation. Some also let their RV as extra living room and this causes sanitary and fire hazards. . Now that is a whole lot of presumption. A 1966 Terry sunk into the mud and covered in mold may be unsightly; not sure how a late model maintained RV on a pad lowers property values. "Letting" or renting out your RV may be more common in California, but not common at all most anyplace else. How are sanitation and fire hazards an issue when a camper is occupied?Re: Outside camping lightsLeaving porch/scare lights on all night isn't a deterrent to crime any more than posting a "no guns allowed" in a business keeps out the armed robbers. If it makes you feel better, good for you, but lighting up your camp site is an advertisement. If they can't see at midnight what they saw at noon you will likely hear them bumping around and be alerted. Just sayin...Re: Camping EtiquetteA lot, not all, of the shirtless and barefoot, all day drinkers and partiers are what I might describe as "Binge campers". Many that I have know lived in the city, apartments, condos, suburban tract homes. Rules and laws and people living next to, above or below you that you will have to see every day. A previous poster asked "Is this how they act at home?" Many times no, because they seem to know better. But to them, campgrounds spell freedom; freedom to turn off and light up, so to speak. I live in the country, so I use campgrounds more as a layover during travel or to meet with extended family. I have no "steam" to blow. I have no desire to drink all weekend or forget courtesy to my camping neighbors. The campground hosts that care and know what to look for when the weekenders roll in can keep a lid of things.Re: Taking Personal Responsibility to new lows.Plenty of reviews out there complaining out the campground mosquitoes, wild racoons, too many trees, weather ruining their weekend, no 24/7 office open to make change for the snack machine, too far out in the sticks, and on. The snowflakes seem to fall in campgrounds all year long.Re: DinetteThe general rule is that it only takes one buyer. I've wondered about removing those dinettes before we purchased our most recent RV with a wood table and freestanding chairs.Re: Flex Seal, Flex Tape and Flex Glue...Used the Flex Steel spray on dripping water faucets on a couple rain barrels under our chicken coop. FAIL! Used it almost daily for about 2 weeks to stop a leak around the threaded collar of our indoor shower head. FAIL!
