GM Merger With Ford Looks More Likely The article is pretty light on anything other than rank speculation, though.Re: Trying to narrow down a short list of SUV for wifeWe had a Durango for a few years. The interior room was great, and it drove really well, especially for road trips. Towed the boat like a champ, too. One of the better vehicles we've owned. Wish we'd just have kept it...Re: Post your tow vehicle pics here ReneeG wrote: I can't see the pic DakotaDad. Thanks. Hopefully it works now. The first hosting site seemed to be problematic.Re: Post your tow vehicle pics hereWell, it was time for a change. Last several trucks have been Rams, and overall they've treated me well. But I didn't feel like waiting for the new Chevy or Ram to hit the lot, or the inevitable first year teething issues that go with a new model. That left Ford. So there we go. It's a 2019 F-350 Platinum. Lots to like about it, and a few things I'm still adjusting to compared to the previous Ram. First Ford I've owned since a 2003 Ranger I bought new back then. It's a lousy picture, but I had about 5 minutes of daylight left when I took it. Re: New RAM HD 1000 lb-ft ksss wrote: I think it will be interesting to see what the Ram fan boys say about the CP4 pump. Has the CP4 been a recent problem on the newer trucks? I remember the flurry of issues early on.. but it seems to have quieted down. That's just my impression, nothing more than anecdotal. Just wondering if they "fixed" it, or if they're still ticking away, waiting to play "Pop goes the Diesel"? I'm not in the market for at least a few more years, but I'd want to know before I put a chunk of cash down...Re: long bed vs short bed for towing 5th wheel RVTrue, I could fit a long bed in my garage too... just have to remove a wall and part of the laundry room. That'd be a small price to pay. Might have to run that one past the missus to see what she says...Re: long bed vs short bed for towing 5th wheel RVA long bed doesn't fit in my garage. We get a lot of hail out here. So I can have a long bed golfball, or a short bed. I chose the short bed. Works just fine. For me, anyway. Not gonna claim it's the best choice for anyone else. Really comes down to situation. What are ya gonna tow? Where do you need to park? What do you need to haul? Does size matter? Bigger is better, until it doesn't fit. :) Just one of those things you've gotta work out for your use case....Re: 2020 Silverado HDReally not a fan of the front end of this new Chevy. As others have said, that's fugly. The rest of the truck is fine, though I wish the square wheel wells would go. But the bones of the new one are fine. Might look pretty good in the GMC version. I'd like to see it. That said, I've never bought a truck because it was pretty (or avoided one because it was ugly). If the new one tows well, I'll check it out when I shop for my next truck. Can't see the grill from behind the steering wheel anyway.Re: Jeep Pickup (Gladiator)If I didn't tow an RV, I'd be in line for one of these. Just enough bed for 90% of my Lowes/Home Depot runs, but most of the fun capability of a Wrangler. Almost the best of both worlds. Not a bad compromise. It's not gonna tow the 5er, though. So nothing more than something fun to think about for me.Re: Battle of the Brands is Heating UpBased on the '96 S-10 Blazer I owned for a while, I should never, ever, buy a Chevy again. But when the time comes for a new truck, I'll shop all three brands again. Holding a grudge hurts my options far more than it helps them.
