Washington is the correct answer, not California.AG inspections coming into US at hwy 97 (Oroville)Be aware that they are doing an Ag search of all RVs heading into the US at the highway 97 crossing. They will collect any produce that does not have what they consider proper documentation. Best to be light on veggies/fruits when crossing this border station.2018 Alaska Trip BlogFor those doing research for future Alaska trips, here is our trip blog: https://sheltierv.tumblr.com/tagged/ak18/chrono/ NOTE: you don't need a tumblr account just page or scroll down the page to read the entries.Re: OnStar 4G LTE data provided by AT&T GM Vehicles trailertraveler wrote: ktmrfs wrote: ...onstar will only operate with continously if the engine is running... The onstar hotspot will run continuously with the engine off, if the key is left in the ignition and left in the accessory position. It will however drain the battery. To prevent the battery from being discharged, I have left the truck connected to the RV if I have shore power. This provides at least some recharge to the truck battery. I have also hooked a stand alone smart charger to the truck battery. From doing this it appears that the OnStar radio and other phantom draws when the ignition is on total 6.5 amps. Ihave run the hotspot for several hours this way. Since we mostly use the internet at night, the 160 watt portable solar panel is not an option. I was hoping you might have some other alternatives. Unfortunately no. Turning the key turns on several computers and they drain power. I use a trickle charger when parked. I have found if you turn off the radio the battery will last longer. We also have a tag hanging in the RV when using, so we don't accidentally go to bed and leave the hotspot on. A bit of a pain but for the price and 22GB+ per month the hassle is worth it.Re: GM onstar car connect questionsI have been using this for about a year on my 16 silverado. 1. Battery (gasser) will run down after a few hours. I now put a trickle charger on it when I know I won't be driving for a few days (we are 3 months at winter location and I only drive about once a week). The trickle charger cannot keep up with the discharge rate, so I am still limited to a few hours (a movie) before giving the charger time to catch up. 2. I manually turn off the headlights (rotate dial counter clockwise all the way), as I found that the system will turn the headlights on if it gets darker and thus run the battery down even more. 3. I also keep a velcro tag on my RV door to remind me that the hub is on. 4. The silverado will start beeping at you when the battery gets low, get tuned into a chime ding and turn off when it happens (the first time I heard this I thought it was my neighbor and not me). It is a bit of a PITA, but the price, bandwidth, and speed is worth the PITA when RVing.Re: What happened to viewing the ad on-line jdb7566 wrote: If you are looking for a page that looks like the mailer they send out, you will not find it. The dropdown has a tab that will take you to the items that are in the mailer. If you can't figure that out, have fun at Walmart. They used to have the ad viewable on-line. With the website you cannot see any of the store specials, installation specials, or service specials. And yes, I do have fun ordering from walmart.Re: What happened to viewing the ad on-line Good Sam Care Team wrote: sheltieRV, Thank you for contacting Camping World. Our online ads and deals can be found in the Deals drop down at the top of the Camping World website. The Deals drop down can be found next to the All Departments drop down at the link below. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Camping World Thanks, Stacy Good Sam Care Team Obviously you have either never used your website or did not read my question. The Deals drop down takes you to the website not the ad (the Ad is not a website). The ad is no longer viewable on-line. Not to mention your "deal" webpage is outdated. So once again you are saying "we really prefer that you shop at Amazon or Walmart, just buy RVs from us".What happened to viewing the ad on-lineYou used to be able to view the Monthly ad online. Now you just get taken to the website. Can't see the specials, service, installation, etc. Just a boring website. Is this another nail in the Camping World retail coffin? Giving up to Amazon I guess.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2018We are heading back to AK in 2018. For anyone doing research here is our 2014 blog: http://www.sheltierv.tumblr.com/tagged/Alaska/chronoRe: Coach-Net has changed it's business practices for the worse soren wrote: Hard to find a thread with more confused people and misinformation. I have my Coach-Net renewal bill in my hand. Full roadside assistance, towing, and everything I expect from an Emergency roadside service policy is $79 a year. You can spend $149 for a lot of needless add-ons, and frills, but there is little reason for the average RVer to need it. So, lets review. The product is available online or via snail mail, and you do not have to obtain it from an RV dealer, or go to one to renew. A year of coverage renewal is $79, NOT $150, and I have an email from then with a 10% renewal discount, so this year, it's even cheaper. Not talking about ERS, talking about the insurance products.
