There is a controller that we are hoping/assuming is still at work protecting the batteries from being overcharged. The panel shows the batteries are fully charged and in float. Nothing is on now to draw power. The 12 volt system still works. Its not on shore power. Wondering if we should leave a light on or something to draw some power from the batteries while the rig is in storage. -inverter not workingSolar system installed not quite three months ago. Worked great! Got home and a week later the inverter quit working. Called the manufacturer who says to return it. Sounds like a short circuit. Called the installing company several states away for info on removing the inverter safely and was told to just take it out and he'd never heard of one going bad. (??!!!) The first one they installed didn't work so we paid for a lot of extra labor getting a new one in. Question: what do we do to protect the solar system/batteries until the new inverter comes. Also, anyone else have problems with inverter ???propane vs electric fireplaceThinking of getting a new rig & wondering whether we should go electric or propane on the fireplace. What issues do we need to be aware of? Haven't had one in a rig before so looking to those with some experience for advice.Re: What satelite system to purchase?update- we got the Traveler & it solved all our issues. Works with our duel receiver, and automatically finds the signal at the push of a button. They should have named it the Marriage Saver. Have to say, we have never had an issue with obstruction at any park we have stayed at, however, depending on where you travel, one might need to consider the number/size of trees in the park.Re: What satelite system to purchase? Thanks for the info... really helps!Re: What satelite system to purchase?Trying to find the best dish for us and running into issues. We want to continue to take our DISH receiver (DVR-controlling 2 TVs) with us, and have an automatic satellite instead of fussing with reception with our current dish. Found out today the new Tailgater won't work with our DVR, and the Winguard we are looking at says it only locks onto one satellite at a time, so if you are using two TVs, they have to be on the same satellite. Is this really going to be a practical issue, or am I worrying over nothing? Any suggestions??
