All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: 99 newmar mountain aire 4081 prepare for towingBiggest problem may be getting the brakes to release. I've had to help people who have set still for just a few months and had the shoes lock to the rears to the point even the rocking with a lot of power was questionable as to get the release. LENRe: Can I charge the house battery with a generator in an hourI guess I'll go along with the rest NO and since I have a RV near what you have say, we run our gen about 4 hours a day with two 12 volt deep cycle and have no problem. Think you gen will run about 1/2 gallon per hour. We cook and shower in the morning using both propane and 120 volt for hot water, make coffee and do the micro thing about 2 hours. Then dinner time and another 2 hours for dish washing hot water cooking and micro plus some TV. We go 10 days at a time and as for the furnace set at a bit less than 60 degrees and cover up, only a few minute in the morning with cooking coffee and such and we are comfortable temp. LENRe: Low Battery on my Winnebago AdventurerNow the reason your Emergency start didn't help is most likely that the emergency start solenoid gets its power from the chassis battery. So you could not get house battery power to help the start. LENRe: Rebuilt brake calipers and headlights go out / high beamsThis is why most shops install new parts rather than rebuilt or refurbished. If your DIY its not that expensive for new. LENRe: ethanol killing generator--over and over?I would get an after market fuel pump. What Gen do you have, 2 hours should be good. Might also try Stabil in the tank. LENRe: honda generatorIf you don't run in the rain you miss all the people, dogs, cats and ducks doing a funny dance when they get near. LENRe: Gen issue?Depending on the level of the drive way a 1/2 tank might be needed. Take the time to add your RV to your signature, that way we have a better know on your RV. LENRe: 2008 f53 class A v10 getting hot. You?I use the scangauge and tow in hot weather. Never have seen over 208 as that is when the fan kicks in and drops the temp back to my running temp of 190. At the 240 temp I would be worrying about the trans. The trans temp is connected to the engine and does not like temp above 210. Don't remember the numbers but at 220 and above the trans has a decreasing amount of time before damage as temp rise. LENRe: Smart brakeCost and are you doing the install on the RV AND the towed? Base plate is a wash. Ready Brute is tow bar and braking system $1500 and a handy person can install. Lights are a wash also. LENRe: toyota pickupOK didn't see the Tacoma part. The talk was about 16?-17-18 models like the TRD and some sport model has the trans needed. LEN
