I hadn't heard about issues in the area of poor durability/reliability...and particularly not about catastrophic failure of turbo and engine. Do some googling on the first gen 3.5 Ecoboost on the F150.. There were many cases of issues with the intake/intercooler. The motors were hydrolocking when the air was damp and the intercooler worked too well and dumped several ounces of water into the engine in a big gulp. Ford denied any issues for a while but magically fixed the problem on the 2nd release of the 3.5. The newer releases of the engine seem to have the kinks worked out.Re: new outlet w/USBI use one of these: Anker 6 port 60W USB charger. It will charge 6 devices all at once, fast. Works good so far. - KenRe: Hitch Mount Bike Carrier??? TomHaycraft wrote: Yakima has never let me down. Pricey, but when my holds up to $4,000 of bikes at times, scratches or damage is not an option. HoldUp 2 with option to extend for 4 bikes. I've got the Thule equivalent and love it. Only issue is weight, the rack ways in around 50lbs. If I want to extend it, it's another 50lbs, so 100lb bike rack on the end of really long lever holding over 100lbs of bikes, yikes. I had a friend weld c-channel into the 2" receiver and welded that to the frame. Essentially the receiver is at the bottom of a "T". It keeps the receiver from twisting and pulling off the bumper. - KenRe: Generator/Progressive Industries EMS-LCHW30Another thing to consider is that many of the AC units have only basic starter capacitors.. I have a 13.5K Coleman AC unit and my generator (Yamaha 2400) would stall whenever I tried to run the AC. Bought a $25 starter capacitor and installed it (30 minute to install which was lots of reading on wiring diagrams, 1 min of connecting wires) and my Yamaha had no issues starting the AC. - KenRe: Wifi antenna ideasI've done similar things to what RLS7201 did.. I have a WRT54GS for local WiFi which has it's WAN port connected to a Picostation M2HP which I use to connect to the campground. So, the WRT54GS is setup like a home access point, clients connect to it and it's WAN port is the Internet (Picostation). I used some 172.16.x.x IP addresses so as not to conflict with a campground that used 192.168.x.x. But you could easily use 10.x.x.x. When I get to a campground, I pull out my "kit" and plug in the power adapters and put an antenna on the Picostation. I then take my tablet and connect to the LAN side of the Picostation and login to the web interface and then I select a wireless AP on the campground to connect to based on signal strength and apply the settings. Then it works.. :) I stayed away from the wireless repeaters because for the most part all they do is slow things down and clog the airwaves. There was a question about IPs. Here is my setup: WRT54GS - LAN - 172.16.56.1 ........- WAN - 172.16.57.2, Gateway 172.16.57.1 Picostation - LAN - 172.16.57.1 ............- WAN - DHCP (I get an IP from the campground) The Picostation is configured as a wireless client otherwise known as WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) client with the Router and Firewall enabled. The WRT54GS is configured as a normal Access Point (AP). My setup cost me $75 for the Picostation, $10 for a 9dbi omnidirectional antenna and I had the WRT54GS left over, but you could get a wireless router for about $30. I've run Tomato on the WRT54GS till recently cause I had some weird problems, so I'm going back to DD-WRT and see what happens. So far very happy with the Picostation. - KenRe: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Our new Keystone Sprinter 272BHS More pictures here We're really liking the bathroom with the garden shower and the deep slide. It has a ton of storage inside and they even did neat things like add LED night lights (one by the bathroom, one by the bedroom) and put lighted switches for the bathroom and main light. - Ken
