If your not a daily beach bum like me then you might not like it. The campground isn't the most beautiful thing to behold but it gets the job done. It's right across the street from the gulf but you have no privacy in most the campsites. The attendant's are very nice and helpful and the motel lounge is a nice place. Again if your going mainly for the beach you will be happy. If your going to spend time in the park itself you won't be as happy. There is nothing wrong with the park it just can't compare to a Florida state park, but then again most of them aren't as close to the beach. If you want to get a site in a state park you can probably get a canceled campsite at http://campsitesniper.com.Re: Florida in the winterMake sure you book two full weeks at Henderson Beach State Park in Destin, FL. I can't say enough good things about this park.Re: Candles in RV? kelly94942 wrote: I've always understood that burning candles in RVs is frowned upon - but why, exactly? Is there something inherently more dangerous about candles in an RV than in a house? I read something that they cause 1 - 2% of fires in RVs, and I don't know how that compares to the percentage they might cause in a house. Can anyone shed some light on this great mystery? We burn candle's every night in the RV. I wouldn't leave them un attended for long but I don't see the harm. I think driving down the road 300 miles in one day in a RV is a bit more risky than some mood setting candles:pRe: Cooler IceMy husband bought the smallest freezer Wal-Mart had, it holds 12 full size ice treys and a few items like frozen potato's, meat, etc... I see a lot of people with a fridge sitting outside but we have a freezer. We are good about dumping the treys so we never have to go to the store for ice, it pays for itself very quickly.Re: After all these years....We had our tailgater satelite stolen this spring. It wasn't the loss of the money that was the worst, it was that we had no TV for the rest of the trip. I can't stand a thief!!
