Hope you are having fun in Virginia. I don't have another trip planned until late October when we go to New Orleans. Burch Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story} Had a scare with Monty. He quit eating last Friday. He tried eating grass outside and had bad diarrhea on Sunday and Monday. I took him to the vet on Monday and Monty had lost over a pound since his annual appointment 3 weeks ago. Monday and Tuesday he still wouldn't eat except for a piece of bacon, which he ate Tuesday night. We would drink water so we got some of that Gatorade water that is full of electrolytes. He seemed a little better yesterday morning and when we got home from work, we gave him some soft dog food (which we had tried to get him to eat for several days). He ate all that we gave him! I didn't want to give him to much since be really hadn't eaten in several days but this morning he was acting back to normal and wanted his treat when he came inside! That made me so happy as I think he is over the hump now. I know he can't live forever (he is 15) but I sure hope I have him around for a bit longer. I can't wait to see him when I get home today. Hopefully he will eat some more. Burch Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story} Hopefully a few are still here. Monty had his 15th birthday on Friday. I have to take him and Pinto to the vet next Monday for their yearly appointments. Monty is doing well, however his coughing is getting worse. The vet said they might have to change up his heart medicine. He is still getting around just fine and seems to feel fine. He jumps around after I take him out wanting his treat. Pinto is fine and it 14 now. ZuZu will be 3 years old in August and is FAT! I don't see her eat that much but she definitely needs to loose weight! We are going to Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral next week for the 4th of July holiday. We always really enjoy Jetty Park. I think there is going to be a rocket launch one day while we are there. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Burch Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story} We just got back from a 9 day trip. Went to Key Largo and then to the Brighten Seminole reservation near Lake Okeechobee. They have a casino and an RV park. Had a really good time but now have to go back to work tomorrow and I am not looking forward to it.... Burch Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story} We took a local RV trip this past weekend. I purchased a new tire monitoring system (Tire Minder). It works with your smart phone. It worked very well on our trip and I am happy so far. Poor Monty still hates riding in the motorhome. He loves being in the motorhome, just doesn't like it when it is moving. He will be 15 years old in June and he is starting to have heart problems and him getting so stressed out during the trip worries me. It will be a long trip when we go to the keys and I hope he is OK. Burch Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story} Here is the problem with Jolly Roger's. Right from their website. A MAXIMUM of 2 pets per RV Site. NO EXCEPTIONS. I have 3 dogs and most of the RV parks in the keys don't make exceptions. The one place that does, is Keys Palms in Key Largo. We stayed there last year and during your stay, if you want the same dates next year, they will hold the site for you until you check out. This might be a yearly trip as we really like it down there. I do wish we could find someplace closer to Key West as Key West would be a fun day trip. It's a two hour drive from Key Largo so I'm not going to waste a 4 hour round trip to get there, although the drive is pretty. Burch Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story} Where in the Keys are you going? We are staying in Key Largo which is the first key. Makes the drive much shorter. Key West is another two hour drive from where we stay. I never could find anyplace on Key West that would allow 3 dogs (they all had a two dog limit). The place we stay in Key Largo will allow a 3rd dog (if you call them and get it approved). The RV resort is right on the water and only has 30 sites. Many places to eat within walking distance. Burch Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story} We are taking a weekend trip next weekend. Just a local trip up near the HardRock in Tampa. Wife likes to gamble and they gave us free tickets to a comedy show. Mid May, we have a week long trip to Key Largo in the Florida Keys. I am really looking forward to that trip as it will be the first week off I have had in a year. I have to get a new tire monitoring system for the motor home. I have been using an RVI brake system for the Jeep and it had a built in tire monitoring system (Tire Patrol). You just had to buy the hub and the sensors. You can't change the sensors batteries so when a sensor quits working, I have to pay $15 for them to ship be another sensor. I have 10 sensors (6 for the RV and 4 for the Jeep) and only 2 are working. Apparently, RVI has discontinued the Tire Patrol so now I am stuck with this hub and tablet that I can't use. I need to get a new system before our next long trip. Hope everyone is doing well. I don't think many are monitoring this thread anymore due to the terrible website. I will keep posting as long as there are people here. Burch Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story} I don't know that this site is doing. For a couple of weeks, this thread was showing locked where no-one could post. I thought it was finally dead. Then a few weeks later, I got an email where someone had posted but when I logged in and came to this thread, I couldn't find the post. Boy, they sure did mess up a good thing. Burch Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story} Dale, that sounds like alot of work! I am glad the forum is still working. For two days awhile back I opened this thread and it said it was closed for replies. I thought the thread was finally dead. I thought I would try again the other day and that closed message was gone and I was able to post again. I'm not sure if anyone besides me and you still look in on the thread. Burch
