I have the "Solo" version in my computer bag for work travel. I think it will serve me well. Yes, the kits get expensive. If you are building you own, you could use the content list as a a guide for what you may need.Re: Getting Hitched In A HurryHave the dealer deliver the jeep to the next campground?Re: Blackstone Griddle bob213 wrote: I have the 17" for the trailer. I have the Walmart (only) 22" with griddle, metal cover and stand ($147) for home. We have the same. We purchased the 17 long before the 22 came out. I would start with the 22 if I didn't have one. It is just the right size for us.Re: "Downgrading" trucksWhen we parked our 5th wheel on the coast, I sold the 3500 DRW. The Canyon I have now is plenty of truck for me and MUCH better for daily driving duty. I have no regrets. To be honest, a decent size SUV would handle most of my hauling needs.Re: Having Frame Rust Restored? Campfire Time wrote: POR-15 is great stuff. But it's a system. Follow the instructions. Clean as much rust off as you can. Use their cleaner product, then the metal prep. Then finally the coating. Exactly! I used the system on the propane hard lines on my rig parked at the coast. It wasn't very hard to do, but it was a bit more involved than painting the rust.Re: Colorado DieselI have pulled an aluminum 2 horse trailer (with 2 horses) one time for a short distance with my truck. I have no idea what the weight was. It did a great job, but I would not want to put it into service as a travel trailer hauler. GVWR and Rear Axle rating would most likely be the limiting factor.Re: What do you do. Airdaile wrote: We look for interesting things to do where we are. You never know what you will find on the Sunday drive. We try to find a Frank Lloyd Wright house that's open to the public, aviation and car museums, and scenery. We also like to scout the area for other campgrounds in the area in case we come back this way. Then there's the endless list of chores - waxing the rig etc. Here is a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired home for sale for you :) Frank Lloyd Wright for saleRe: Anyone thinking of a GM 1500 with the 3.0 Duramax?I will definitely check them out when it is time to pass the Canyon on to my son.Re: Ranger vs Tacoma - Ike GauntletI'll stick with my Canyon.Re: DEF for my Dodge? I usually need a DEF fill with each oil change, so I include that with oil change supplies. I usually keep a 2.5 gal jug in the garage with my other consumable supplies (just in case). While the fuel nozzles may not fit your truck, the DEF nozzle will. It's about the same size as a unleaded gas nozzle. I get my DEF at major chain truck stops and no problem with it. Yes, I am sure they will fit and I could hit up a truck stop between home and work if needed (with a slight change in route). I have considered it, just not done it. I used the truck lanes often for fueling my 2009 3500 before going seasonal. Had that truck required DEF, I definitely would have used those bulk supplies. I guess the point of my rambling is that you should use what ever works for you. The bulk supplies at truck stops are certainly fresher (and probably cheaper). If you are new to needing DEF, you should see a pattern of need pretty quickly. For me any my little Canyon, it is not very often and not a problem at all. I think I use more washer fluid than DEF :)
