Couldn't be happier with it so far.. Although it was interesting watching my wife transfer everything from the previous trailer... Hmmmmm, what do we keep and what goes to the kids... Re: BFG All Terrains KO2 PSI JW2 wrote: Mikakuja: I am searching for new tires for my truck. I like the LT285/70R18 size, although there are not a lot of tires in this size. I see you are in Canada. I searched the BFG site for LT285/70R18 and only came up with the “KM2” and not the KO2. Where did you find your LT285/70R18 KO2's? Sorry for the delayed response... Haven't been on the sight in a while.. I miss typed the tire size, mine are 275/70-18. BFG doesn't make any larger 18" 80psi KO2's.Re: Truck camper cover for 6 monthsI have tried different qualities of tarps in the past and they don't work well... They don't tend to stand up very well to the changing elements or constant UV abuse, and as already said tend to leak easily. As tarps don't breath they will trap moisture and can cause mold/mildew issues. I have also found that no matter how well you secure them wind will cause them to chafe the surfaces of the camper and cause damage. A good camper cover will breath and doesn't trap moisture or damage the campers surface, and when you uncover the unit in the spring it will look as good as it did when you covered it.. Well worth the investment, IMO.Re: Draining the batteriesInteresting problem.... Have you tried unplugging the camper from the truck to see if the issue is in fact caused by the camper?? It doesn't make sense to me that the camper batteries are remaining fully charged and the truck is dead unless there is a wiring issue. If there is no ignition relay that shuts the power off to the 7 pin connector there would only be one way I could imagine the camper draining the truck batteries without draining the camper batteries... Is there is a battery switch somewhere in the camper that is wired to allow the camper to use only the trucks power while the camper batteries are shut off?? If there is constant power to the 7 pin connector (with no ignition relay) the camper should draw from both systems and the 200 watts of solar should be more than enough to keep everything charged.Re: ghost doorGhost x2Re: opening for slide is rottenJudging by what I see (especially in the third pic), I would remove the everything from the roof and strip the EPDM. From that point it will be easy to determine how much of the roof and structure is rotted, which is probably a lot more than is visible. Removing the roof will also make it easier to replace the header over the slide. As I have rebuilt quite a few rotted roofs and walls I would attempt this repair without hesitation, but that's me. It's not worth having repaired professionally, unless you have deep pockets. You could hack it together and you might get a few years out of it, but if you have the ability and can rebuild it correctly, it should give you quite a few more years of use.Re: Dicore alternative (canada)All of the RV stores/dealerships that I have been to carry it. As already said, you won't find it at Home Depot, Can Tire or any of the building supply stores, etc...Re: Your truck camper experience is ?Love our camper/pickup combo. 2011 F250 4x4 / 8ft Corsair.. That being said I also love our TT, but they both serve different purposes. The camper is a lot easier to get into the smaller out of the way places and gives us the advantage of bringing the boat with us. The weight police are really not an issue, they are just not afraid to point out the extremely overloaded and dangerous rigs that some people think are completely safe because nothing has ever happened to them... YET..... Common sense and being realistic with your trucks limitations may mean you don't get the massive camper you really want. That being said, a bigger over weight camper doesn't provide you with more good times than the one that is suited for your rig.. The idea isn't to get the biggest monstrosity that you can, it is to get out there and have fun.Re: Blackwater disposal problemOur portable tote is 11 gal, black is 25 gal, so I am very careful when using the tote for black... I keep a short sewer hose for the portable tank (less hose to worry about draining if you misjudge. When I am filling the portable tote I don't just open the valve and hope for 11 gal to drain out. with the short hose it makes it easy to stop and check the level without worrying about dealing with a full hose of poop water... So far no accidents... knock on wood....Re: Looking For Feedback on Forest River Rv'sWe have owned our FR Surveyor since Nov 2016. We are happy with it overall, but like all of them it is not perfect. Structurally there have been no issues and the overall quality is good (better than some, not as good as others)... For the price I would expect perfection, but that's not the case with the RV industry. My biggest complaint with our particular unit is the cabinetry. Most of the cabinet door hinge screws were too short and stripped leading to the doors coming off, and where two screw could have been used there was only one... The pantry closet with it's adjustable shelving is a joke.... The shelves regularly fall out while traveling and the adjustable plastic tracks barely hold the weight of shelve alone let alone anything on it... It also doesn't help that the pantry walls are not strong enough to support anything inside the pantry without bowing enough to pop the paneling and trim off of the outside of it... Long story short, I am not having the cabinets repaired under warranty, I will repair them myself... I have no faith that the dealership will repair the defects to my satisfaction... All in all (other than the cabinets) which is minor in the grand scheme of things, our FR has been great.
