All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Vehicle Size Issues at Border CrossingsDoes anyone worry about height of the lanes at Lukeville. Last time I went thru I was in a car I noticed that my camper is taller than the lane. I'm going thru into the US in March and would like some feedback. ThanksRe: brake buddy/assistI have one in Michigan.Re: First-come first-served campsites: how to keep my spot? The first come first served campgrounds in the Tetons are the Colter Bay Campground and Gros Ventre campground. Both are very big and when I worked in the park a few years ago they hardly ever filled. There is also the Colter Bay RV park which is usually sold out months in advance. If you know your exact dates, call the RV park you never can tell when someone might cancel. We were in the Gros Ventre campground last year and they have a few electric only sights. It is closer to the south end of the Park and closer to Jackson. Not too much to do at Gros Ventre but at Colter Bay there are two restaurants, a grocery, laundromat and showers, and a marina where you can rent canoes or kayaks or book a spot on a cruise. Horseback rides are also available. Colter Bay also has a Park Service Visitor's Center.Re: Truck and camper height and overpass question? There is a publication called the Truckers Road Atlas (I think that's the name) that lists all the low underpasses by state. I think it also marks them on the state maps.Re: Tetons ??'sIt's probably too early for grassy lake road. Still too much snow.Re: I 80 westbound through Chicago.Just a reminder. There is a toll to pay west bound just after the split where 80 is marked Iowa and the other road is marked Wisconsin. I don't know how much it is.Re: Southwest Michigan CampgroundsIf a no frills campground is OK try Jensen's in South Haven. It has full hookups, fire pits and picnic tables.Re: Height limit crossing into Mexico at Lukeville, AZI also was too high for the normal lanes. If you keep to the far right there is a chain link fence with a large gate. Just stop there and go inside and tell them you are too tall. They will open the gate, xray your unit and also inspect the inside. Once they are satisfied, the will you on your way. A friend had $3000 in roof damage by going through the low lanes.Re: No dinnetI have a 2006 Lance 1191 that had a dinette in the slide. we remove the dinette and put in two lazyboys. It was really easy since there was nothing behind the dinette.Re: Dinnet Removal. We took out the dinette in our Lance. It was the only thing in the slide with nothing to block the installation of chairs. Even with the chairs in the recline position these is enough room to walk sideways around our feet. We have a 2006 Lance 921 with a side entry. We are in it all winter in a warm climate.
