Amazon lists it and with a name like AMAZON it has to be correct. Yeah, scary...and that's Amazon selling it too...seems like they MIGHT want to fix that...liability and suchRe: yose guys lied to me !From Carlisle site... http wrote: How fast can I travel on Carlisle trailer tires? In the past, most trailer tires were rated at 62 or 65 mph. Today, some of our tires are "rated" (speed symbols) at 87 mph (N), some at 75 mph (L), some at 65 mph (J: ST tires) and some at 62 mph (J: non-metric tires). Please remember that speed ratings are test speeds and not recommended driving speeds. The ratings apply only to the tire itself, and not a particular vehicle. The speed rating does not mean that the vehicle can be safely operated at the tire's rated speed. We recommend driving no more than 60 mph when towing a trailer. Please always drive at a safe speed and abide by the posted speed limit. Re: yose guys lied to me !****! And here I thought ALL ST tires were rated to ONLY 55 mph! I always felt edgy pushing mine to 62... Getting me some of these Rs before spring break...that 10 hr drive to FL just became 8! and before I get flamed...I kid I kid. But seriously though, I didn't realize they made ST tires with speed ratings higher than 65. Interesting...Re: Keystone Cougar's the top selling 5th wheel.Love mine...just the basic things that are going to happen that people complain about. But hey...if you're going to own one of these you should know how to fix the simple things. Can't beat it for the value...very happy with mine.Re: Andersen Aluminum Ultimate Hitch RedesignedAndersen is simply researching and improving a great product. Search the web for failures of their Ultimate 5er. There aren't any... If installed properly and used within it's limits I'm sure it's just like anything else. There's no magic or snake oil with the design. It's rather simple...and it works. 5th wheel hitches are great too, obviously. For me I just find the Andersen so much easier and that's why I chose it. And I've driven the heck out of mine. One time I drove an entire first leg of the trip and forgot to lock the ball. I use chains and I use a checklist and somehow I missed it. Anyway I would have never noticed if I didn't check it every time I stop for fuel. I have heard others say the same thing. With 1800 lbs pushing down on the ball I guess it don't move a whole lot. I was mortified when I saw it, but it happened. I f'd up. Thank the Lord no one was hurt or worse. Now I have my wife go back and "peer review" my checklist when I'm finished. At any rate, the new design looks cool. I see no reason to change as my current Andersen is well under it's rated limits. The new design looks like it could handle much more weight.Re: Tell me more about your hitchWent to Andersen Ultimate and I'll never go back...I store it in my 5er basement, takes me just a few minutes to hookup...by myself. I can see the ball over my shoulder, I know when it's on, I lock it (set it and forget it :-) and I'm off. Weighs 32 lbs...smooth as butter going down the road. It's a great piece of kit. I'm installed a B&W turnover ball on Monday. Easy to free up my bed, without a lift or any help. If I were going to go with a traditional 5er hitch it would be the B&W companion. It is a nice quality item. I like the way it installs into the turnover ball and the locking mechanism seems ultra reliable. My neighbor that dropped his on his bed has a reese. He owns a trucking company too...so he was really embarrassed. He swears he did a pull test...must have did it wrong is all I can think.Re: Towing Fifth WheelI've pulled with both and much prefer the feel of the gooseneck trailers. As mentioned, dont use the adapters if you want to use your gooseneck hitch. I can HIGHLY recommend the Andersen. And as for safety chains there are kits for that, I use them...can't hurt!Re: What's Too longMine is a 33' model I guess but its more like 38' from to back, if not 40'. As long as you plan ahead you should be fine. Sometimes, especially with state and national parks that are in demand I've had trouble finding sites that will work, when there aren't many sites left to choose from (seems the odd sites are typically the last ones to go). In those cases I just find a private park nearby and call and let them know what I have. Never had any trouble going where we wanted to go as long as I plan ahead.Re: Diesel Generator in tow vehicleHeck..eventually these 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks will run electric motors with diesel generators themselves... But as to the OP, I have seen folk with them at campgrounds, but I have no experience with a diesel generator myself. My Champion Inverter (2800 maybe? Can't remember the model) runs my AC and will charge my batteries. I have a big solar kit that I need to install to keep the batteries charged, once I do that I won't need a generator :-) Well I prefer AC, but you know...Re: Picked up new truck - 2016 Ram 3500Dude, she's a beauty!
