Maybe they would consider just starting over and sending you a whole new unit?Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. blkfe wrote: nmfiredawg wrote: Hi everyone. I emailed Champion about maybe about adding a piece of pipe to the exhaust to send it up and out of the truck, they said tha tI shouldn't and when I asked about the sound abatement they just pointed back here. I have seen some boxes on here, does anyone have an easy one that I can put it in and leave in the back of the truck. I have to move the generator when I unhook the 5vr but then it stays in the back. If I keep it on one side in the bed the other doesn't fill any hotter then when the sun hits, but have only taken it out once. What is everyone else doing. Just want to be a little nicer to neighbers if I have them. Don't really want to go out and buy a honda or yamaha since I don't go that often. Thanks I had planned on hooking my exhaust ("venturi style") to a piece of 3" PVC. This way, I have increased the size by 7 or so times, and let air mix in at the connection to make sure the pipe doesn't get too hot. I used a piece of pre-bent 90* piece of 1" rigid conduit and fabricated a flange that I welded to it and bolted up where the spark arrestor is. I posted some pics here about 50 pages back or so of my enclosure. (that I don't use because of not enough air)Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. freeatlast wrote: I bought the Champion "RV" generator after reading all of the positive comments in this thread and am very disappointed to find that it will not run my AC very smoothly. The gen chugs and coughs and the AC unit make way too much noise. When I shut of the gen, it blows the voltage regulator!!! I have replaced the regulator twice. Any suggestions anyone? 13.5 or 15K air conditioner? What else is if anything is running at that point. Mine runs smooth as butter with the A/C on, I can even run the microwave at the same time.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Wow Lou, very impressive. That far exceeds what I had in mind for mine!Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. This is sounding more like a partially shorted out cord now........ ?Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. sand crab wrote: I have read several posts about the db ratings of generators, it would seem to me that if you put a small muffler on the generator, say like one off a small car or cycle that you could appreciably reduce the noise level of the Generator, is this possible to do, and be effective? It has an automotive style muffler on it already, it is (literally) nicer than the one on my Honda Civic.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. The Roamer wrote: My C46540 wont run $#%% My A/C stalls it. My wifes blow dryer stalls it. My 1200 watt micro stalls it. WTF? The only thing I can figure is the shore line is too long. I only have the one that came with the trailer. It's 25' long. Has anybody else had this problem? Or am I just missing something here. Do I need to get a 6' long cord? If so where? PLEASE HELP! I have about a 15' cord, mine will run everything in the camper (as others have stated). Dunno, the other suggestions are a good place to start. I can defiantly run a 13.5K A/C and the micro at the same time.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. Mr. Tommy wrote: I must have missed that about the valve adjustment. I haven't adjusted mine yet (only about 3-4 hours on it so far). I'm at 4 hours myself, I changed the oil out and stored it away for the winter. Now it looks like I will be getting that synthetic blend I put in BACK out of there AND doing a lash adjustment??:R Any help from people in the know would be great!Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. (who run's both his Genny's on Amsoil synthetic) Wow:R I am....... I put Castrol Syntec (blend) SAE 30 in mine after the 5 hour break in time. I only have about 40 minutes on it since then, I guess I should dump it before spring time????? I don't understand why this is the case though.........Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Jay, that's not it. Here is the main one that is being discussed: http://www.cpeauto.com/de3500RV_gen.htm Nice wheel kit, that one is on the Champion website too.
