Tranny will hold in that gear until you give gas and then will shift up again. On long grades I slow down at top so I can control the speed starting there don't wait until you going down to fast then start trying to slow down. If you need to use brakes I apply hard to get down to speed desired and let the tranny work after that don't ride the brakes. It's easy once you get use to your coach and controlling the speed.Re: What ladder do you keep in motorhomeI carry a little Giant ladder fits in storage of our 5er. Extends to 15ft so easy to get on roof of RV and Very sturdy.Re: Tow Dolly Vs. 4WDJeep is probably the most commonly used but you wont put your Harley in that. I have seen both Ford 150 and Chevy 1500 flat towed many times. I am not sure that they have the capacity to haul your Harley either. That is a lot of extra weight to haul in the back of the truck and flat tow. Thinking I would have gotten a Toy hauler if you want to take all that along with you.Re: Portable generator recommendationsI also use the Champion 3100 Inverter with remote start. Works great and have not had a problem in the 2.5 years we have had it. Run it on average of 75+ hours a year. Change oil every 30-35 hours of use or twice a year.Re: Odd things that Happen when on the RoadAbout 5 years ago we were on I5 in Washington state in our class A MH. Speed was about 60mph and came up on a turn with a flock of birds on the side of the road. They took off just as we approached and three of them hit the windshield and bounced off but one went through the air conditioner cover and ripped it clean off the MH. When we pulled off at the next exit I went up on the roof of the MH to check the damage. The bird comes crawling out of what was left of the cover and flies away.Re: Need Toad(TV).Options:Rolls Royce Ghost,Smart Fortwo,Fiat500We towed a 2013 KIA Soul with 6 speed manual. Great tow car only 2700lbs and lots of room for a small car.Re: Please Help to find Eclipse spot in Oregon - Yes last minute 2oldman wrote: sch911 wrote: Might want to consider moving east. Current OR weather reports are clouds and rain for Monday. LOL.. wouldn't that suck! not sure where you got your information but weather as of today says mostly sunny on Monday the 21st. Might be little concerned if I was at the coast but in the valley and east you should be fine.Re: Los Altos, CA RV CampgroundNice RV resort in Morgan Hill. Coyote Valley RV resort it is the best option in that area but it is not cheap. http://www.coyotevalleyresort.com/Re: Crater Lake National Park?If you are coming up I-5 we have stayed at Seven Feathers Casino RV park and then Day Trip to Crater and Diamond Lake. that is about a hour and half drive to Crater. We have then driven from Crater to Enumclaw, WA and stayed at the Fair Grounds RV park. Then Day trip from there to Rainer, Seattle and surrounding areas. Beach area I would suggest Florence OR and Lane County Campground Harbor Vista. We have stayed at all of these in a 43' 5er.Re: Seattle, WashingtonNot many good choices near Seattle. We have stayed at the KOA in Kent WA a few times not bad but spendy. That was the closest we could find.
