But once he patches it they will pait or decal over it and "make it look good".Re: Body Repair....Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to tell the repair man everything I know.Re: Body Repair.... valhalla360 wrote: When you say tagged a corner...is that the side wall or the fiberglass end cap. If it's the end cap, a fiberglass boat guy should be able to make a repair that is invisible to the eye. If the side wall or the roof is involved, not sure they would want to get involved. While the side walls are sort of fiberglass, they are different. FYI - While I understand the response, silicone slopped on may be an issue. Near impossible to remove all traces of it and nothing sticks reliably to it. Just throwing it out there in case someone else has a similar incident. Honestly I'm not sure what your asking. Maybe you can answer your own question with the link I posted to the pic of it. I put the silicone on the exposed wood behind the shell. Only tape is on the fiberglass body.Re: Body Repair.... I snapped a quick pick before my temporary fix to get me through the weekend. I was in a hurry to get out of there so I didn't take many detailed pics. Not the best pick but here's what I have...(sorry I can't figure out how to upload a pic only a link) http://s108.photobucket.com/user/zdavez/media/20170526_115359_zpsu1jhjtx8.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0Re: Body Repair.... Jay Pat wrote: If I was in your shoes, I might consider a boat repair place. Don't know if they would consider working on a rv. Hope you find a place close by. Pat I had a guy at work tell me the same thing. He even gave me a shop but that shop doesn't have a door big enough to get the TT in. That's a common problem I'm having with the body shops I've called so far. Out of about a half dozen reliable shops I've called I've only found 1 shop so far.Body Repair....Had a little accident with my TT the other day. Wondering if any of you have been in this situation and what and how you got it fixed. I was in a hurry to get out and enjoy the weekend and when I was heading out of my driveway I tagged the overhang of my house with the corner of the camper. It damaged the front top corner of the camper. I loaded it up with silicone, plastic & tape to it to keep it from leaking. But it needs repaired correctly. I called my local RV store and they were pretty much useless in helping in getting it repaired. They said only place that could fix it is 2 states away. I was really surprised that they couldn't fix it at their shop. I called another place that's a good distance away from me and they said they could fix it but since I'm so far from them they recommended me just finding a good auto body shop to do the repair. My TT is a fiberglass body. Is it typical to have an autobody shop do these type of repairs?Tongue Jack replacement.I need to replace my electric tongue jack. My question is....are the mounting holes on all tongue jacks the same? I see there are plenty of different sizes and diameters. But if the mounting holes are the same I don't see why I couldn't use any one assuming it is rated for the proper weight.Re: Camping near Mammoth Cave KY 6.7 tow rig wrote: The KOA and Jellystone are both gross. The KOA might as well be in the median of the interstate. We go to Townsend every year and its our favorite. I have alot of other suggestions if you want. We are from KY if you want more suggestions. My rule of thumb is to stay away from any KOA or Jellystone. I don't think I've ever seen a KOA's that I like. The locations are almost never what I look for in a CG because they are almost always along interstates or busy highways. Jellystone's are a little better but are just too commercialized. I am open to suggestions. Anything that is similar to Townsend would be awesome! I keep thinking I want to go back to Townsend. But like my wife I want to something different. I have been searching around and Pisgah National Forest now. It's looking a little better as for the CG's that I'm interested in. Besides I can then ride by bicycle up Mt. Mitchhell which is on my bucket list. I've done Clingmans Dome twice now and need a new mountain conquer ;)Re: Camping near Mammoth Cave KYI'm not seeing any sewer hookup at the Cave Creek COE. midnightsadie wrote: look at cave lake state park. Is that on Nolin Lake? If this is the park (http://parks.ky.gov/parks/recreationparks/nolin-lake/default.aspx) your talking about. I don't see any sewer there either. Only thing I can find in the area with full hookup is Jellystone. I've been to one of their parks before and I wasn't impressed. IMO they are overpriced and that one doesn't look much different than any other.Camping near Mammoth Cave KYTrying to plan a vacation for this summer. Been kicking around the idea of going to Mammoth Cave but I’m not having much luck finding a campground that fits our needs. We will be staying for about a week so full hookup (Elec, Water & Sewer) is a must. I’m sure there aren’t any campgrounds within the National Park that will have those hook-ups. So finding a place nearby that have that would be great! Nearby as in less than an hour from the park (cave entrance). Also would like to have a site on a river, stream or lake. Am I asking for to much? The last couple years we’ve went to Pigeon Forge and loved it. Actually stayed in Townsend right on the edge of the Smokies. That is ideal and I would love to go back for the 3rd year but my better half want’s to try something different. Therefore I’m looking at Mammoth Cave. Anyone have any opinions or suggestions? I am open to anything within about 6-7hr drive from North Central West Virginia.
