I will keep two full E bottles to get me home. The only thing that is a unknown is altitude, we live at 3963 feet ASL the campsite is at 7700. Think we may make a day trip up to one of our favorite areas, Sonora Pass at 10,000 ASL. If I can get around there with oxygen then I should be ok. The Covid pneumonia is what did my lungs in but I am getting better a little bit at a time. Not being able to get up in the high country would really depress me. I am using that as my motivator.Boondocking on Oxygen Can it Be Done?Anyone tried it? I have good back up and plan on staying within 3 hours from home. Keeping two size E bottles as reserve to get home. I've got a portable battery powered concentrator with two large batteries also a regular 10 litre concentrator which requires AC power. Two Honda 2000 watt generators and 300 watts portable solar. Last but not least a 1000 watt Jackery power station. Lot of stuff just to be able to breath! BillRe: Impact of fuel prices on travelI guess I have to jump in here. Diesel is currently $4.87 which is way, way to much! We are lucky I guess because one of our absolute favorite National Forest CG's is only 125 miles from home. We have stayed there many times over the years so I think we can squeak in a few trips to there this year. I really hate to advertise but I am sure I will be asked so here is the name "Bootleg". It right off US 395 in the Walker River Canyon, great place. BillRe: Best Pin Box?I'll kick this one off. I have a Reese 5th Airborne 20K for our 2013 Arctic Fox 27-5L. As long as it will hold air it's performed well for us. No chucking, bouncing . I also have the B&W Companion hitch which helps also. I will have to admit we don't put as many miles on it as a lot of folks here might, maybe 2000 a year. Good Luck BillRe: Cover For Fifth WheelWe went with a KingBird cover for our 5ver after doing a lot of research but in the end it did not even make it through one winter here in high desert of NW Nevada. It developed a long rip from the top down along a zipper. I will say KingBird was very easy to deal with though, I sent them pictures of the damage and they refunded full purchase price and didn't have to return old cover.Re: Axle Spindle Nut WrongYah, one of the two would have been me :o getting outsmarted by a nut. :R BillRe: Axle Spindle Nut WrongFinally received the nut replacement and the new nuts worked ok.:) Took a little finessing but got the cotter pin in. Bill Nut on the right is the problem nut.Re: Axle Spindle Nut WrongThanks for all the great suggestions. The hole in the spindle on mine is actually located in the the lower half of the spindle, more closer to the bottom. I am still confused as to why the left and right sides are different? One cotter pin and other tang washer? BillRe: Axle Spindle Nut WrongOK now I am really confused. The pin fits through the spindle just fine but not when nut is installed. The left front was exactly the same as the left rear? Cotter pin twisted like someone tightened the bolt with pin in so as to get it to go through. The axles on this 5th wheel are Al-Ko now Dexter. Talked to Dexter, took about 5 different people before I found someone who could help. They are sending some different spindle bolts. What confused me is that the right side is different, it has tang washers instead of cotter pins?? Different spindles with the flat spot for the tang washers. This is not the first time I have ran across something like this with this trailer. It almost like it was the end of a run and they didn't have enough parts to complete it so the just threw in what ever they could find. BillAxle Spindle Nut WrongI have a 2013 Arctic Fox 27-5L which has been setting beside the house for 4 years unused due to illness and many other things. Long story short I am repacking wheel bearings to start with, also looking for new tires. This will be first time I have done this myself on all four wheels. The axle nut on rear left wheel cannot be correct. When I removed the cotter pin I noticed it was bent(twisted) and I actually had to move the nut with wrench to get it out. When I did get it out it came out in two pieces. Now I cannot for the life of me get the new cotter pin to go through. I have moved the nut both ways and the cotter pin will not go through. Is is possible to have a mismatched nut on this spindle? I have ordered a couple different types and hope my suspicions are right. Thanks in Advance, Bill
