I have a SRW Ram 2500 Megacab. I love the extra cab room but I gave up quite a bit of rear wheel capacity. The issue is with trailer pin weight, not length. The "3/4 ton" truck just doesn't have enough rear wheel payload capacity for most of the longer trailers due to the extra pin weight they have. I really wish I would have got a DRW 3500 just for a little more rear wheel capacity. Not so much for a bigger trailer but for an extra diesel fuel tank in the truck bed. 30 to 40 gallons of extra fuel would sure help. Right now I need to stop between 300 and 400 miles for fuel with the 36 gallon stock tank. I'd like to have enough for 8 hours on the road without fueling. Not that I wouldn't still stop. Another Meggie Owner :C Been thinking of throwing a cap on the back of mine. Been hesitant since I also wanted to add an aux fuel tank in the bed. I've seen one company that offers an extension for the fuel filler that mounts through the cap side wall. Just haven't seen one in person.
