All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Upgrading Ram suspension for TCI'm running a 2015 RAM 3500 4x4, Cummins, Crew Cab, long bed. I've got a helwig big wig sway bar and timbrens. I currently have a Lance 1010. Unloaded there's 1 1/4 inches between the timbrens and the rear end. With the camper loaded the truck sits down on the timbrens. I feel it rides real good with the camper on with this setup. No significant sway and the ride isn't harsh at all.Re: Replacement Lance Marker/Clearance lights? Thanks for your responses. I had ordered one that looked like the right thing off of ebay, a Glo Brite 118A. I also called Lance and they are sending me their part they are currently stocking, an LED unit. I looked at the Bargman series 59's but the details I could find they didn't look like the clearance lights on my unit. They appeared to have the light plug in a grommet you need a hole for and the light managed to peel off didn't have anything sticking out the back. Its possible I wasn't looking at the right part.Replacement Lance Marker/Clearance lights? So I managed to scrape the drivers side marker light off of my 2001 Lance 1010 earlier in the spring getting too close to a basketball hoop was never a problem before the truck camper. At the time I made sure the damage was sealed to keep any water out and went ahead and used the unit on a couple more trips. Does anyone here happen to know the manufacturer/part number Lance used on these units? While I understand that the marker lights are fairly generic I would like to be able to get one that matches the other lights in shape, color, and most importantly the attachment holes. I have attempted contacting Lance, they never got back to me. I just submitted a new request to their "contact Lance" page but wanted to check this group to see if anyone else had any idea about these parts. chasmosisRe: It Begins...New to me 2001 Lance 1010 SidecarFlip wrote: The wrinkling on the wall in front of the access door and the misalignment of the door itself speaks to me like a structural issue under the Filon. Lance applies the stripes AFTER the entire unit is assembled so the mis aligned stripe is indicative of issues under the skin (and the wrinkle) as well. There are hidden issues on that unit that will only get worse if not addressed. Finally, where is the OEM under mount for the tie down? Lance uses the standard underside mount, they never use the jack plates for a securement point. The seller reported to me that the owner before him (I'm pretty sure I'm the 4th owner of this unit) had mounted it on a flat bed and had used the bracket on the jack mount to better align with using it on a flat bed. I'm planning on getting eye bolts and going back to using the default tie down point. The wrinkle was explained to me as caused by the camper being off the truck in a muddy area and one or more of the jacks sank/moved in the mud and this one was tweaked enough to cause the wrinkle. I believe someone else noted the frame mounted tie down didn't have the plate on the end. This was the unit right after I bought it and that bracket came with the unit, had the right chains in place, AND fit the torklift reciever so I took out the torklift tie down end and used this one for the ride home. And I agree I should have spun it so the eyebolt was facing forward. All things that are on my list of items to address/revisit. I acknowledge I still have a fair way to go to get it the way I want/need itRe: It Begins...New to me 2001 Lance 1010 kohldad wrote: Nice looking combo. The problem was that turnbuckles did not have enough angle to pull the camper forward and that is what I see on your set even less than on mine You can pick up a good bit of angle by swapping the front inserts from side to side so the ears go forward instead of back. This will move the bottom of the tie down forward about 6" and should give you plenty of angle. Alternative would be to go back to the factory tie down point. Look along the edge underneath, about 10-14" back from the front and you should find a hole for a 3/8" enclosed eye bolt. The eye bolt should screw into a metal bracket embedded in the unit, not the wood. I'm real curious how the truck handles the unit. I've contemplated moving up to a 1010, but always think the weight is going to be on the heavy side. Have you weighed it by chance? My truck is almost identical to yours, just replace the "C" with a "6.4 Hemi" tag. I'll have to look for that hole for the factory tie down point. I was sure the front tie downs aren't the factory location but haven't had time to look into it. Thanks for the pointer. I haven't had a chance to get it weighed yet but its on the list. Thought the truck handled the camper well on the short drive from where I picked it up to my temporary storage location. It was pretty windy and you could feel the truck rock a little but nothing scary. Need to get a trip or 2 under my belt and see about what suspension upgrades are gonna be needed. I'm also shopping for a 2 foot hitch extension yet cause my use case is pulling a trailer on most outings, either a boat trailer or a flat bed for my rock crawler or my side-by-side. I know tork lift makes the best ones out there but this truck already has a class 5 (2 1/2'') reciever hitch so pretty sure I'm gonna go with something like this curt extension since I need to drop it down to a 2" reciever anyways. It Begins...New to me 2001 Lance 1010Been Lurking here for a long time. Looking this fall for a decent used TC and ended up finding one close to home. Got a new to me 2001 Lance 1010. Pretty tickled overall. So far real nice unit for what I thought was a great price. I already have the Torklift frame mounted tie downs but need to update the tie-downs that came with the unit. The Camper came with some turnbuckles too short for the frame mounted tie downs without using chains to make them long enough. I'm looking to go ahead and get a set of TorkLift Fastguns. Best price I've come across so far is about $625 shipped from adventurerv.net. OR I've seen a set of 4 plus the torklift locks for $673 shipped from etrailer. What are other folks paying for their fastguns? The new (to me) unit: chasmosis
